After Corona also braked this Leipzig band, which is well known with its rock 'n roll sound far beyond the borders of Saxony, there was again a public appearance. Unfortunately, this had to be postponed several times as the founding member and the best pianist of Saxony, Alexander Teich, passed by his former student band after 30 years. In the meantime, the Dutchman Roy Raaijmakers has found a reasonable replacement, and so the legendary “Jukebox” of the Firebirds in the Comödie Dresden could begin. Together with two friends we drove on the way to Dresden, and as Swing and Rock ́n Roll also starved, I saw the gastro at the Comödie. When I came down the street with the “Wenzel Prager Bierstuben” I was one of many newly opened brewhouses in Dresden. The appointment was booked online for 20:30, so there was nothing in the way of a nice evening. Wenzel Wirtshaus am Altmarkt Wenzel Wirtshaus am Altmarkt Since our big daughter didn't want to spend the night alone, she invited herself to a friend and then wanted to come with us. No problem, another chair was booked by phone. We sat (which played a rock 'n roll) in the comedy, and “The Firebirds” and played, and played. They noticed that after this long break they only had Bock. But we have “even” the time because we had not expected it, but in the comedy is always quite punctual. Then maybe shortly after the show chat in the lobby, but not anymore. It was 8:30, it was 8:45. Our daughter sat here alone in Wenceslas, and just before 9:00, after almost three hours of concert, she was also on our evening. Since the Wenzelssonntag opened only until 10:00, we were asked to eat some extras in the Wenzels if we could eat something at that time, and how this was hunted, we made ourselves out of the dust and in the direction of Brauhaus without an after-show party. At 21:15 we had finally reached the Wenceslas, and we had expected to be able to sell 5 main foods impatiently, but in certainty. The brewhouse or the Prague beer rooms are rebuilt here in the post office. On cozy, well-padded wooden chairs you sit along a long curved window front and can watch the busy driving at Dresden Postplatz. Guest room overlooking the Altmarkt Gastraum overlooking the Theke As usual in a brewhouse, the light is dimmed but sufficiently bright to drink, chat and eat. The brewhouse is just a few metres from the ÖPNV, and many other restaurants are nearby. You can get rid of the mobile base either in a bit at the edge of the road, or you can use one of the (powerful) parking spaces in the area. So we were brought to our table, where daughters were already waiting, and the menu from top to bottom knew of heart. The other occupied tables were only with their dessert or drank the last beer. So the waiter concentrated on us. The menu is quite extensive and contains mainly Bohemian specialties, and as the name "Prager Bierstuben" says, also 11 different Czech and Bohemian beers. We could not think long about our drinks, and so we ordered: · 1x 0.4ér Ginger Ale for 5,35 € · 1x Strawberry Limonade for 5,80 € · 1x Gurke Basilikum Limonade for 5,60 € · 1x Melone Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons for 5,60 € · 1x Tomatoes They were sharply fresh and had a light, not too intense taste in their respective taste. The beers were different. The Budweiser Elderberry, unfortunately only from the bottle, in contrast to the cyclists we know, was this a sweet, dear hearty cyclist, but with a refreshing aroma of elderberry blossom and only 2 alcohol. Pivovar Bakalar Svetly Lezak Budweiser The life of Mrs. Holunderbier The Pivovar Bakalar Svetly Lezak, my beer, was a typical Czech beer with deep yellow color and full of beer taste. Unlike the other Czech beers, this had only a delicate, soft hop aroma. Pivovar Bakalar Svetly Lezak For a long time to taste our drinks, we have not, because no 5 minutes after our order stood the garlic soup on our table four times. That was fast. Either the soup was still in the big pot, or this microwave heater was refreshed. There was nothing tasteful to expose. Garlic soup with all kinds of contents A slightly cloudy chicken broth with very fine and small rasp garlic pieces awaited us. The whole was refined with fresh leek rings and celery and carrots. A garlic soup as it stands in the beech, and how to get it a few kilometers further in the Czech guesthouses. The garlic clove in it is easy for a week. There were fresh, warm rolls. The beginning was successful. Garlic soup We had to wait 15 minutes for our main dishes, with the flame cakes and the burgers being dressed relatively quickly. And the black beer roll will be ready to be in the kitchen. My wife and our great man decided to place Bohemia – the Bohemia flame cake with acid cream, slightly smoked bacon, onions and onions. Plamen Bohemia – a Bohemian flame cake with sour cream, mild smoked bacon, onions and leek onions Plamen Bohemia – a Bohemian flame cake with sour cream, mild smoked bacon, onions and leek onions The disappointment over the flame cake could already be seen by both girls at the first bite. Warm is different. The soil is thin and crispy, abundant slightly salty ham and fresh onion between a mild acid cream. The onion rings at the top were slightly burned in the oven. The Plamen Karel – the Bohemian flame cake with smoked salmon, acid cream, tomatoes, onions and rocket of our friend was not really warm. Lauwarm smiles very much. Although the also thin-liquid soil had clear roasted aromas of the oven, it was no longer much to feel about the heat. Plamen Karel – a Bohemian flame cake with smoked salmon For this he was covered with thick slices of smoked salmon, which surely comes from the discounter around the corner. Add a lot of fresh rocket, a few diced tomatoes and a lot of fresh onion. The mild acid cream blended harmoniously into the taste. The Wenzelsburger. A thick, juicy roasted and well seasoned beef patty, could almost have been said to Bulette, was lined with two even more powerful half potatoes. In addition, the burger was also covered with spice cucumbers, (boil) tomato slices, fresh onion and salad. The gliding in the mouth did not go, there was the proverbial schnapps. Luckily there were cutlery. what a device from Wenzelburger with Pommes Actually we wanted to have the “Knödel Pommes” that is very popular here in the region, but unfortunately there was no more, and so I can only tell you that the “normal” Steakhouse Pommes tasted well. They were hot and hot. The enclosed Tatar sauce, over whose origin is speculated French or Turkish, was apparently designed here. With plenty of herbs and plenty of garlic, this sauce was almost exemplary for Czech cuisine. I wished a typical Bohemian dish, which was also served with the black beer roll. Black beer roll – a slice of pork roast with fine pepper chopped meat in black beer sauce, with red cabbage, potato dumplings and Bohemian dumplings, which steamed hot, there was a slice of really seasoned pork roast, not too lean, not too fat, with a filling of paprika pieces and more of a kind of liver kebrates. I couldn't recognize minced meat. This filling was also neatly spiced, the thick and ally black beer sauce fits perfectly. In this sauce, the Malzaromas of the Czech Black-White-Bias were clearly tasted. Black beer roll As a supplement, there were red herbs that were clearly not from local cuisine, but are served in this form and this taste in every large kitchen. On the other hand, the Bohemian dumplings were again good as they were known from our neighbor country. The potato dumplings, on the other hand, were too pappy to me personally in consistency. Black beer roll – a slice of pork roast with fine pepper chopped meat in black beer sauce, with red cabbage, potato dumplings and Bohemian dumplings After that the girls wanted to be disappointed, because too cold flashcakes still have a sweet dessert, but as Sundays make the place at 10:00, there was no beer for us anymore. The announcement from the waiter was energetic again, but now it's easy to eat. So we had the bill in our hands 21:58 and let the place be disappointed. Then we would have on the aftershow party of our “The Firebirds”. Our conclusion: We left 126 euros in Wenzel. We found very well that despite our enormous delay we had something to eat. The ejection of the time for closing the shop may not have to be that we know different from other guest roses. Even the cold flame cakes were not intoxicating, although they were good from taste. Timing didn't fit into the kitchen. The Wenzel is now one of over 10 brewhouses in Dresden. The competition is hard, a bit they still have to work on themselves.
