A week ago, I filled my four-wheel drive with half a tank of diesel, and now there's water in the fuel. My car is currently at the mechanic's. I've been trying to reach the BP station, but their phone goes straight to the engaged tone. This has been the only BP station I use since it's conveniently located near my home. I always fill up at the last pump on the left, next to the high flow pump, so I want to warn others to be cautious. I could be facing a hefty repair bill. I recently learned from BP that, although this station is branded as BP, they don't actually sell BP fuel. They bought the station on Drayton and High Street in Toowoomba, but it's not affiliated with BP fuel.
Years ago, I owned a secondhand store next door, and my father still runs a workshop there. This BP used to offer the best hot food and takeaway, thanks to Darryl and his family. Despite changing hands a few times, it remained a decent service station until my last visit in May. Now, it feels like a tax write-off under its new immigrant ownership. The hot food and takeaway options are gone, and the store is cluttered with cheaply made, overpriced imports. The staff treated me as if I were beneath them—abrupt and rude—despite the fact that I didn’t even comment on the state of the place. It’s disheartening to witness the decline of what used to be a beloved local spot, now replaced with a soulless atmosphere. I miss the days when I would be greeted with a smile and a friendly "Hello, how are you today?"
