Overall, the reviews for this Tex-Mex restaurant are mixed. While some customers had a negative experience due to bland or canned-tasting food, slow service, and lackluster dishes, others enjoyed the atmosphere, friendly staff, and tasty meals such as chili Colorado and cheese enchiladas. The prices were considered reasonable by some, making it a good option for those looking for a budget-friendly dining experience. Ultimately, the consensus seems to be that while it may not be the best Mexican restaurant in town, it could be worth a try for those looking for a quick and affordable meal.

Great Mexican restaurant! I really enjoyed the motif! It seemed like we were in a cantina. The staff was friendly and fast. The food was delicious! It was also relatively cheap which was nice!

Had an excellent meal here. The service was great and the food was very tasty. The beans and rice alone I would go back for. Not too runny or salty. The cheese enchiladas were the bomb. The taco I had was a tad over seasoned but very crispy and delicious.Especially for take out since I had to drive back to work and then eat this meal. The chips and salsa were also the bomb. I lovethe homemade chips and the seasoning on them. The salsa was perfect. Not too hot either! Perfect for a good dip in the chips andnot too runny. I would highly recommend this place!

Canned Meat???. Sitting here in front of my plate with a sad expression, it tastes like they used canned meat and it's disgusting. The waitress left is sitting waiting for what seemed forever to only serve us cold chips and the worst mexican food I have EVER had. Do I actually have to pay for this??? All I could eat was the beans and part of the tamale. Never again will I come here or suggest this place.

Upon arrival, we were seated right away and were fortunate to have Angelique T. as our server. We enjoyed our usual salsa and chips, which were delicious (with a nice kick to the salsa), and then placed our orders. My wife chose the Combo 10 – two cheese enchiladas topped with cheese and enchilada sauce, alongside a tamale. I opted for the Chile Colorado Dinner. My wife had a beer, while I ordered the house margarita (on the rocks with salt, of course). The food was fantastic, and my pork Chile Colorado, with tender chunks of pork and flavorful sauce topped with Monterey Jack cheese, was delightful! Our only complaints were twofold: first, the restaurant closed at 8:30 PM, giving us only about 30 minutes to order after arriving at 8:00 PM, and secondly, Angelique, knowing the closing time, didn't come to take my beer order before the restaurant closed. She came by at 8:32 PM, and when I asked for a draft beer, she informed me that it would be illegal to place another order since the restaurant was closed. I still had half of my meal left! It was disappointing. I switched to ice water, but I was not pleased that she didn’t check on us sooner. Overall, I’m giving four stars for the excellent service and great food. Thank you!

My husband and I have lived in Salt Lake for over 25 years and have passed by Guadalahonkys numerous times while traveling through Draper. We always found their name amusing. After seeing that they managed to survive the COVID pandemic, I suggested to my husband that we should give the place a try one day, thinking that they must be decent since they’ve been around for so long. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. To their credit, two of the waitstaff recommended the chicken chimichanga, but we chose different dishes. A restaurant should offer more than just one or two noteworthy items, especially when there's a menu with so many options. Additionally, the restaurant could use a thorough cleaning, as it felt a bit dusty. The service we received wasn't particularly engaging. When I mentioned to our waitress that my husband’s dish was terrible, she offered to get the manager, but my husband prefers to avoid confrontation and decided to eat his meal regardless. I declined her offer, as I knew it would upset him. One positive aspect was that they provided chips and salsa right when we sat down and refilled them throughout our meal. They were decent but nothing special. I ordered the grilled fish tacos, which were quite disappointing. My husband had the sweet pork chimichanga, but the pork was tough, dry, and burnt. It seemed as if they had simply slathered it in sweet sauce to mask the overcooking, which left me utterly shocked. In short, we won’t be returning. I also realized the importance of checking reviews beforehand, as we decided to go on a whim since it was dinnertime and we happened to be in the area. I wish we had skipped it.
