Met there for lunch with 3 friends, the waitress was wonderful and she was very helpful assisting us with our meal selections. The food was fantastic. The only problem came from 2 moms with young children who were allowed to run, yell and sit at or hide behind any table there was with a mom yelling at them from the other end of the outdoor patio. This was the fault of these 2 women not the restaurant. Being a parent... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Penn Taproom:
Even though we made a reservation through OpenTable, the Penn Taproom had no record of it. It was evident that they handle online reservations differently, as there was a clear oversight regarding ours. We ended up waiting about an hour for a table, and the staff wasn’t very apologetic about the situation. I believe most restaurants would offer a complimentary drink while you wait, especially when the fault lies with... View all feedback.
It was average bar food at best. Service was good. Maybe we were just there on the wrong night. Overall experience was just ok .
Great patio area, cool even on Sumner days. Good drink menu and lots of good menu options. Went with the waitresses suggestion and got the Spicy State St burger. Good burger but was not spicy at all. My big negative was the service. I was there eating alone (business travel) amongst other families and couples and apparently that made me invisible. I ordered a beer at the same time of my food. My food came and still didn't have a drink, had to ask another waitress to bring it to me. Never saw my waitress again until she showed to pick up my credit card and check (had to ask someone else for the check itself) a lot could ha w factored into this but would still go back to give them another try.
Great food, wide selection of cool beers and top drawer service!
Above was extremely slow. My 5 year old word 20 mins for a lemonade, we only received 2 table settings and waited 5 minutes for napkins (well after the food arrived. We had a veggie burger which was one of the worst I have ever had, fish and chips, worn very heavy breading, not light and fluffy and bland cheese quesadillas. We will not be back.
Went with a group of 6 friends from college. Sat outside since it was one of the last nights nice enough to eat outside. Good beer selection. Got wings and cheese steak egg-rolls. Both were great. A bit pricey, but expected for downtown Doylestown. All but 1 got the Spicy State Street Burger. The burger was awesome. Not really that spicy, but really good. We will definitely be back for that burger.
