I am excited to go back to this pub. It was busy on Sunday lunchtime, but that wasn't a bad thing. The biggest disappointment was the long wait - 15 minutes for drinks, 1 hour for our food (we all ordered the roast), and another hour for dessert. The staff and owner were very friendly, but they need to work on improving their wait times. The food was good for a Sunday lunch, but I was surprised to see an additional cost for the beef.

A charming rural pub with picturesque surroundings, excellent food and service, but could benefit from a more expansive menu.

The Jackdaw is a charming countryside pub that has made a concerted effort to cater to vegan diners. They offer a variety of traditional pub dishes with a vegan twist, including a full vegan roast complete with Yorkshire puddings and battered banana blossom with chips, as well as lighter options. During my first visit, I tried the avocado and vegan bacon sandwiches and found them to be quite tasty. On my most recent visit, I opted for the three-course vegan Sunday lunch, which featured excellent crispy potatoes, a generous serving of vegetables, and a delicious nut roast. They also offer a butternut squash and beetroot wellington option. One of the standout features of the menu is the vegan Yorkshire puddings, a rare find in non-vegan pubs. The fact that they go above and beyond to offer these options is truly commendable. For dessert, the menu includes a crumble or ice cream, but they were able to veganize the affogato by replacing the biscotti with a crumble topping, which turned out to be a delightful alternative. The pub's bar area is dog-friendly, and there are scenic walking routes nearby. It's conveniently located on the 16 bus route, making it a great destination for a leisurely afternoon outing. I recommend making a reservation in advance, especially for Sunday lunch, as it tends to get busy. Additionally, they host events, so it's advisable to check ahead to ensure the full menu will be available. Overall, The Jackdaw is a fantastic choice for vegans and non-vegans alike looking for a delicious and unique dining experience.

Lovely food here, vegan options for all three courses, we had falafel bites to start, moving mountains burgers and apple tart with fruit and vegan ice cream, it was delicious, by far the best vegan food we have had out in a long time and definitely the best vegan food locally to Folkestone. Our little cockerpoo Rollo was made very welcome, theres a lovely garden outside and the covid safety measures are to a very high standard. The most surprising thing was the knowledge of the staff in terms of veganism, very impressive. We will definitely return and cant recommend high enough!

We haven't been in jackdaw inn for 4 years but always had a nice meal before. When we turned up had a nice greeting from the staff. We waited at the bar it would be nice if the fire was on as it felt cold and dark. We ordered starters and mains. It was ok. It wasn't wow like I said 4 years ago. Pork belly was tough and chewy. And burger on dry side. The cheese crocket wasn't fried enough. We won't be coming back sadly Price per person: £20–30 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
