What William Bouvet doesn't like about Brasserie de la ville:
Give this one a miss, it was the worst place we have ever eaten in, be it in the UK or any other country. I had the mussels and chips?? - maybe that should have warned me, and they were truly disgusting, goodness only knows what they were floating in, my husband had a very rubbery omelette again with chips, the only passable thing was the wine - well they couldn't do much to that. The only good comments we have is th... View all feedback.
The Plat de Jour had been described as Roast Chicken with Chips. On arrival the plate was swimming in a yellow sauce and the Chicken itself was just on the polite side of frozen. My entrecote steak was poor quality and the bleu sauce consisted of a piece of cheese melted in milk. Eventually after hassle, the roast chicken was substituted with an omelette. Certainly a night to remember; as in not ever return.D & G J'Town
Ottima cucina locale. Personale gentile e attento. Consigliato.
There isn't much in Doue-la-Fountaine and we walked around trying to find somewhere for lunch after visiting the nearby troglodytic sites. The place was quiet, well, inside at least. Outside were a number of people obviously out on their lunch break. There were lots of dishes on boards on the wall and the dish of the day sounded good - a beef stew, if I remembered correctly. Many of the workers out on lunch had that. As it was a hot day, we ordered salads instead. My salad of duck gessiers and ham was perfectly good, and a nice apricot tart for dessert. The tart was home made, too.Great value, good food and a friendly waitress. What more is there to ask for?
