What Rylee Langworth doesn't like about Ristorante Portovino:
It's had a great run, the staff was always awesome and always enjoyed the qualities of what had made this place good for a very long time! I think as time past and it began being more corporate it may have lost the enthusiasm it had at the start. So, we had dinner at Porto Vino last night. It was great food and the staff was friendly but I was very thrown off by the fact they don't serve alcoholic beverages except for a very pricey ceaser. The food was great and service was good so we had a hockey team lunch at the same place with over 50 people. Although there was only three staff members helping us, the orders were taken accurately and food was brought out in a reasonable amount of time. It was all delicious and I was quite Impressed how good the staff was considering this was an 8yr old hockey team. I also learned this was a bring your own wine kind of place so I came prepared this time and I loved it. I didn't have to pay for over priced wine.

We went for Sunday brunch. When we arrived at our booth the bench seat was dirty. We stood around waiting for someone to acknowledge us so that it could be cleaned before we sat down. Then we waited for coffee. We were not even offered a second cup until we flagged someone down. An hour before the buffet ended they ran out of smoked salmon (the most enjoyed item). The restaurant certainly was not full! The fellow wearing a white chefs hat at the omelette station (certainly not a chef) was rude pushed by me not even saying excuse me! All and all for a price tag of $35 for brunch we were not impressed. If a restaurant is going to charge that price, I expect good service, cleanliness and not for them to run out of food! We will not go back.
We ate at Portovino one evening and enjoyed it so much that we made a reservation for our hockey team lunch the next day (65 people). The service was superb both times we visited. The dinner menu is extensive, with many pasta and non-pasta options. There is a kids menu that serves huge portions. The lunch menu is smaller but all meals come with soup or salad, coffee and dessert. There is no kids menu at lunchtime, but all entrees are available as half orders. Every single item ordered was delicious! Be warned though, they do not serve alcohol! This is a bring your own wine or beer restaurant (there is no corkage fee).
