The food and service at this restaurant are outstanding! From the outside, it appears to be just a typical small Scottish country pub—charming, but nothing out of the ordinary. Fantastic eating, it was the best meal we made nc500 route! would definitely recommend the pub as the staff is very attentive, polite and welcoming:
Food was lovely, think it's open all week but only serving food Fri, Sat Sun through winter. Dog friendly
We loved this pub's atmosphere. The food was fantastic, including the vegetarian options. It was so good we journeyed for miles to go back again at the end of our route 500 adventure. Thoroughly recommend the Clachan.

When we arrived in Dornie, it didn't take long to spot the Clachan in all its blue glory, complete with a small outdoor seating area. As we entered, it felt like everyone paused and looked at us as if we were strangers, but soon the staff, bustling with meals and drinks, made us feel welcome. The Clachan is a fantastic little village pub, as one would imagine, with only a handful of tables, but it was buzzing with tourists and travelers eager to try some local cuisine. We sat next to a couple who were on holiday in the area, and it was great to chat with them about where they were from and share tips about different attractions in the vicinity. The menu is quite small but packed with excellent choices like burgers, fish and chips, pork, steak, and salads, all sourced locally from the Highlands, which is fantastic! Our food arrived promptly, despite it being a Saturday night. My friend and I both ordered the cheese and bacon burger, which was bursting with flavor and melted in our mouths. It would have been rude not to indulge in dessert while on holiday, so we decided to try the fudge cake and strawberry penne, both of which were delicious and reasonably priced. I can't quite describe how cozy the Clachan felt, with its wood-burning stove and its charming half pub, half restaurant vibe. Family dogs were welcome, and the staff were great—it truly was a wonderful place for dinner. Before we knew it, it was 10:30 PM, and time for us to head back to Glenelg. We will definitely be returning to the Clachan Pub!
