DuePi has an extensive menu with Sardinian specialties and the food is absolutely outstanding with impeccable service. Nina looked after us on both occasions was truly brilliant. Best restaurant we went to in Cale Gonone. Towards the edge of the town but easy to get to. The main dining area is on the outside front terrace among the beaut... read more Best restaurant we went to in Cale Gonone. Towards the edge of the town but easy to get to. The main dining area is on the outside front terrace among the beautiful string lit trees. The mussels in white wine sauce was delectable, paired with house wine rosé. For pasta dish we tried the ravioli in a delicious tomato sauce, and the trofie with clams and pancetta with cherry tomatoes. The staff was friendly and had everything under control. Make a reservation as we saw they were turning people away who showed up without one. They didn 't autimatically add on a coperto (service charge) which was surprising for the tourist town, however we gladly added a tip. Lastly, the bathrooms appeared brand new and beautiful, with the best smelling hand soap, reminiscent of 5 star hotels.

Tables are in an outside courtyard under some old olive trees. Ambiance is lovely. The food is amazing. Some of the best pizza I have seen for €7. Great salads, really nice house wine €6 for 500ml and really great service. It is clear that this is the restaurant to eat at because there was a constant stream of people being turned away. It's not often that you can have an amazing meal with wine for €44.

I ordered the seafood pasta and it had a lot of taste. Only the gambas were cooked too far unfortunately but okay, the rest was delicious. When I started my pasta, I asked the waiter if he could bring a plate to leave all the empty shells. His reaction: I only have two hands. I have no idea why we got this very unkind reaction. This made my experience less good, despite the good food.
