This was the worst Sunday lunch I have ever had. The Brussel sprouts were completely uncooked, the Yorkshire puddings were reheated to the point of being impossible to cut through, and the roast potatoes and carrots were frozen and canned, respectively. The gammon was overly salty. To make matters worse, there were numerous flies buzzing around and landing on the food as we ate. On a positive note, the staff was frie... View all feedback. read moreA recent visit to a local pub revealed a mixed bag of experiences. While some patrons enjoyed warm hospitality and delicious dishes, like the homemade steak pies and mushroom and Stilton Wellington, others were left disappointed by undercooked vegetables and overly salted meats. The cozy atmosphere, complete with a roaring fire and friendly locals, struck a positive chord. However, persistent flies and inconsistencies in food quality raised concerns. Despite varied dining experiences, this charming spot boasts an excellent beer selection and a welcoming vibe, attracting both return visitors and new diners alike. Refinement in food preparations could elevate future visits.
