It was a surprise Valentines day._I had no idea where we are going, so after work we took a train from Pearse station to Clontarf - and came to this amazing
Amazing foodEverything we tried - drinks, appetizers, main courses, dessert - were exceptional.
I was going to say lucky anytime we went to fishbone but that would be unfair to what I consider to be a great place to eat. Booked pretty late Friday 21st July for 22nd pre U2 gig meal . We had salmon terrine , Calamari and Mackrell pate for starters . Calamari was.jsut delicious with a lovely sauce to accompany .they were cooked beautifully, tender and batter wasn't oily. My wife had the pate which she has when we go and a.clean plate was.sent back as was.for the terrine by.our friend . For mains my wife had a chicken salad which she enjoyed as she wanted something light, nice juicy pieces of chicken with some good fresh rocket etc and dressing . Our friend had the burger which amuses me as to why in a fish restaurant you would get meat but he enjoyed it .I had the Lobster roll which surprised me that it came in a long brioche bun .I really enjoyed it with the fries . I had in my mind it was.going to something along the lines of a sushi roll . Though surprises are good. Along with 2 drinks each bill came to €120 and to me it was worth every cent . A very friendly waitress brought us some nice cold water with out the need to ask for it . I love fishbone apart from the food the decor location all adds up to a.great place to eat .
I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. It has a unique atmosphere and a great location overlooking the sea. The front terrace is lovely on a sunny day, perfect for enjoying a glass of wine, a pot of mussels, and some garlic bread. The menu is extensive, with a focus on fresh seafood, and there is something for everyone. I especially suggest trying the fish platter for two. The crème brulee was delicious and the chicken wings were the best I've had in a long time. The staff are friendly and helpful. I will definitely be returning soon.
This restaurant is one of my favorites! I can honestly say that I have never had a bad experience at Fishbone. The food is always excellent and consistent, and the service is friendly and attentive. Tonight, we had the most delicious meal there, the prawns pil and monkfish tacos were amazing! I highly recommend this place.
