This is a wonderful place to spend a afternoon in the yarra valley. lunch on the deck overlooking a beautiful view of the surrounding hills. eating was really nice and not expensive as the wein. the staff was attentive, well drilled and reacting, nothing was too much annoyed. a great day.

I have a mixed feeling about our visit in shantell, especially the brot they serve with in the ground everything (my charcuterie platter, pumpkin soup or even with fantastic aubergine diving and amazing pesto) was superb, it was the best I tried so far. the osso bucco my friend was delicious, pumpkin soup was standard, but I was disappointed by my charcuterie platter, it was served on a normal dinner dish, with so little choices for $28, no pate or terrine, well, not expected fantasies for $28, but not expected that it would be so safe. I absolutely adore this restaurant! It's a hidden gem. I have dined here multiple times and have thoroughly enjoyed each visit. The food is delicious and intriguing, and the atmosphere is cozy and peaceful, making it easy to have conversations with your dining companions.
Cup Day weekend lunch. Intimate, quiet, romantic winery restaurant with stunning views from all tables. Great place to go if you want to escape the crowds at some of the bigger commercial wineries. We had the share tasting plate which had a good selection of cured meat, seafood and dip. The house made bread was lovely, but tiny! The barramundi was cooked perfectly with a good crispy skin and nice accompaniments. The kangaroo steak was tender and had a good jus. I’m not personally a fan of kangaroo, but I believe this was a good version of it. The ‘salad’ dessert was a great light finish to our meal.
