This is our favorite go to restaurant in the area. Great food and friendly service. Love the ever-changing menu, with my favorite regulars. A real gem for our area. Terrific gourmet food at reasonable prices. A not-to-be-missed place for dinner! Sometimes we 'll just stop by for salad, soup and their fantastic mussels....aaaannnd, maybe dessert. This is an excellent restaurant. It is the only restaurant that I've visited in the Sauk Valley that I would recommend without hesitation. It seats few, so make sure to get a reservation. The service is excellent, food is thoughtfully prepared and delicious, atmosphere is subtle and lends itself to conversation.
Wow, what a pleasant surprise. Excellent food at a reasonable price such fare in the Chicago area would easily cost 50% more. My wife had sea scallops w/risotto, and I had braised beef w/mashed potatoes. We shared a chocolate mousse dessert... that, in the opinion of my chocolate expert, was outstanding. They rotate their menu daily. We shall return.
My husband and I made reservations for Valentine's weekend in an effort to try something new. We are used to driving to Rockford or the Quad Cities for quality dining but we found ourselves needing to stay local. The menu changes on a regular (I believe weekly) basis, so my review is based on our meal experience. Based on what we discovered, however, any menu would be a winner here. We had a very nice table by the wall but at the right angle to look out the window toward Main St. We both had the soup and split a shrimp cocktail. Absolutely delicious-fresh seafood with a sharply spiced sauce that was distinct and unique. He had the rib-eye entree while I went for scallops-one of my favorite meals but something that is extremely difficult to do well. Our food was exceptional. The steak was perfectly cooked and expertly seasoned. My scallops were melt in your mouth with a perfect seer. We split the cheesecake for desert. Creamy and devoid of the usual cloying richness. A lovely ending to our evening. We ended up spending a good amount of money, but it was absolutely worth it. This was big city quality food tucked in a tiny window front downtown Dixon. A shocking gem to be celebrated!

Amazing night and cuisine. Salmon cooked perfect and the corn sorbet from local sweet corn was outstanding. Thanks again chef mark for a memorable birthday dinner.
