Boulder View Tavern is an American restaurant and pub located by a beautiful lake. The friendly atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to enjoy quality time with family and friends. They offer a variety of craft beers, house cocktails, and specialty martinis, as well as delicious weekly specials. Local musicians also perform live music every weekend. Popular appetizers include tavern wings and French steamed mussels, while the grilled ahi tuna stands out as a specialty salad. As for the main course, their menu features options like the 8-ounce certified Black Angus beef burger, bison burger, or black bean burger, all served with a choice of delicious sides such as sidewinder fries, melon wedge, and coleslaw. Good service for locals. Heavy pours for all, luckily. Not all weekly specials are available on back patio. Live band is always a plus!
On my first trip to the Poconos, my friends and I grabbed a bite at Boulder View TavernWe were a large group, so apps were ordered for the table.
My colleagues and I had reservations at 12 noon and was seated promptly. Since Burmese restaurant are rear in the area, we were really looking forward to this experience. While we weren't in a hurry, the restaurant was. Drinks were ordered and they pushed to have a food order at the same time. We choose to wait to order the food until the drinks were brought to us. We ordered the Burmese style beef and goat stew as well as the Moh Hin Ga (Fish Noodle Soup). While the sauces of the meat stews were nice, it wasn't spectacular! The stew meats were definitely not tender. If you enjoy tough meat, then these dishes are for you. Additionally, the Moh Hin Ga was lacking in flavor and in my colleagues words: "would not order it again". Also, soft drinks and iced tea and refilled complimentary. Given the rush and the below average experience, will not be going back. Given there their great Yelp ratings, there seems to be a lot of patrons that like it. Maybe we just attended them on a bad day or the normal Chef was not present that day...
