Nonetheless, our dinner at Saint James Gate with friends from Shediac was an acceptable substitute. They offer a good variety of choices on the menu, a fine selection of draft beer and wine, and a great pub-like atmosphere. Though a little bit off the beaten path (from the Transcan highway), a great place to stop.

The patio overlo... read more My wife and I decided to visit The Gate on a sunny Sunday morning. The restaurant was not very busy, but there were many golfers on the course. The patio overlooks the golf course, and the view is fantastic - you can see the golfers approaching, and the scent of the flowers around the patio added to the lovely atmosphere. We both ordered The Gate burger and were very pleased with our choice! It was packed with flavor, generous in size, and so tall that it was a challenge to eat. The burger was made with fresh ground beef, cheese, lettuce, and pickles, and came with a choice of sides. I opted for the waffle fries, while my wife chose sweet potato fries. The portion size was generous, and although I felt like there was almost too much food, everything was delicious. We enjoyed watching the golfers finishing their rounds while soaking up the beautiful view, nature, and the warm spring sun. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed!

While the food was good, I would prefer a restaurant with a more specific cuisine focus. The braised beef that my wife ordered was delicious. However, the air conditioning was too cold, making the room uncomfortably chilly.
