loove this place so much! everyone is super chilly and friendly and they have the sweetest dog. it is perfect for a nice lunch / dinner because they are baptized by vegetarian / vegan things, but also serve for carnivores. makes it so easy if they go with family / friends who do not want to give up meat. We live 3 1/2 hours away so were in touch with them for 2 days. The good news for THEM is they were full. The not good news ABOUT them is they promised they would have a table for us, we were calling and talking for 2 days but when we arrived no where to sit unless I could sit in a deep couch to a coffee table.... Came with my man. we really enjoyed two meals, drinks and a vegan cheese plate. the sum came to $100 and my head was mushroom pate on brot, so it was definitiw expensive for what we got. but the atmosphere, service and food quality was excellent. if we came back, it would probably be just for a tablet as snack, just to save some money.
Beautiful personal, real back story and amazing vegan options. many of their food is so delicious in the house (including vegan aioli.)!
Hands down my favourite place to eat in Auckland. As a vegetarian with a vegan best friend and a meat eating boyfriend, everyone can eat the kind of food they want and there are no complaints! Everyone I have taken has loved it. Staff are friendly, food tastes great. Also, the said meat eating boyfriend is just as obsessed with the vegan cheese platter as I am.
Vondels has a nice vibe, attentive staff and good food. We ordered the vegan tacos, cauliflower tempura and the vegan cheeseboard (we tried to order the fries but our kind waiter let us know we had already ordered more than enough food). The tacos were great and the wine of the day was delish, the cauliflower was a little too deep-fried for me but the sauce was tasty. The vegan cheeseboard was quite good, it almost converted my mum!
