Devils Tower is a breathtaking, must-see national monument best experienced early to avoid crowds. Paved loops and short hikes circle the immense monolith, offering spectacular photo ops, wildlife sightings and interpretive signs. A well-equipped visitor center and museum, gift shops and friendly rangers enhance the visit; annual park passes are accepted. Respect cultural prayer cloths at the base. Bring water, sunscreen and bug spray—parking fills by mid-morning but quieter viewpoints nearby offer peaceful views of this awe-inspiring landscape.

Was Nicky at Devils Tower National Monument a mag?
I had an incredible experience! I arrived around 6:00 AM, and there was plenty of parking available at the visitor center. The trail around the base of the monument was nearly empty, and I hardly saw or heard anyone on the north side. The sounds of wildlife and nature were wonderful. However, by 9:00-10:00 AM, the parking lot was full and the place was bustling with people. In my opinion, going early is the best way... View all feedback.
Seeing this iconic site in person, something I've viewed countless times, was an incredible experience for me. It was quite unusual to witness it towering majestically over the landscape. I can see why so many people have regarded it as something truly special over the years. Just a heads up: it gets extremely busy. The silver lining is that you can enjoy the view without dealing with the long lines by driving to the Circle of Sacred Smoke. While the Visitor Center was packed, there were only a few of us at that spot, making for a more peaceful experience.

We added this stop to our vacation in Minnesota, South Dakota, and North Dakota in May at the last minute, and I'm so glad we did! It was truly spectacular—what a beautiful park! The hiking trails around the base are quite easy, making it accessible for everyone. I highly recommend adding this to your list of must-visit places!
A must see beautiful rock formation in Wyoming. There is a challenging but fun walking loop around the monument with plenty of stops to take photos. There is also parks nearby to relax and have lunch and view the scenic surroundings.
