It was quite unusual to witness it towering majestically over the landscape. I can see why so many people have regarded it as something truly special over the years. Just a heads up: it gets extremely busy. The silver lining is that you can enjoy the view without dealing with the long lines by driving to the Circle of Sacred Smoke. While the Visitor Center was packed, there were only a few of us at that spot, making for a more peaceful experience.

The trail around the base of the monu... read more I had an incredible experience! I arrived around 6:00 AM, and there was plenty of parking available at the visitor center. The trail around the base of the monument was nearly empty, and I hardly saw or heard anyone on the north side. The sounds of wildlife and nature were wonderful. However, by 9:00-10:00 AM, the parking lot was full and the place was bustling with people. In my opinion, going early is the best way to enjoy it.

It was truly spectacular—what a beautiful park! The hiking trails around the base are quite easy, making it accessible for everyone. I highly recommend adding this to your list of must-visit places!

We were here at 8am and the upper lot was already full.Bring water! Did I say get here early!!!
