Devens Grill

Steak and baked potato were overdone. Waitress disappeared after meal was delivered. Overall disappointing experience.

Tried Devens for first time, won't be going back. Looks like a good sports (lori of tvs) bar, but food was marginal. My wife ordered shrimp scampi which was six shrimp in a tomato sauce no pasta and was pretty bland. I had the black and blue burger. Burger was cooked well, but it was very lite on the blue and had sweet onions which overwhelmed what little blue cheese was present.

Normally, we have a good experience here. However this occassion was not that great. I ordered prime rib and my wife ordered filet mignon both medium rare. When the food came out, my prime rib was ice cold and her filet was medium well to well. Sent both of them back and they came back, eventually, fine. As a result though, we were there a long time just twiddling our thumbs. When the check came, they hadn't compensated us in any way for the inconvenience. I had to complain in order to get some compensation on the bill. At other restaurants where there has been a problem, they have always done something. Service wasn't that good that night either. We had reservations and got seated right away. There was quite a lag between a server coming to our table. Our drinks took a really long time to arrive as well. They were busy but there were a lot of available tables.

We used to love Deven's grill. We're not opposed to change, but the staff have turned over on the floor and it's pretty awful, slow, very unpleasant. It was our weekly go to, every single week for almost three to four years after we discovered it. We even had friends ask us to go after we recommended it to them when they would visit us. So very disappointing. The kitchen is still pretty good. I hope it improves, but until someone can vouch for that, we'll not be back I am sad to say.
