Lost River - Detroit
Lost River
Description
Lost River is a compact Detroit tiki bar offering theatrically crafted, potent cocktails in distinctive glassware amid immersive, swampy décor—netting, fog machines, lamps and kitschy props—ideal for date nights or lively hangouts. The rum-forward menu and creative presentation impress, and parking is convenient. Expect a small, cozy space with limited seating; service can be slow and some guests note occasional odors or cleanliness issues. The venue doesn't serve food (patrons may bring their own), and special glass/ice requests aren't always accommodated.

Atmosphere is fun, small space with small tables. Drinks are served in fun containers with tiny rubber ducks on top haha just wish I would have gotten more substance for the price.
Went on a quiet Thursday night. Our waiter was Amelia. Very pleasant. Drinks took about 10-15 mins to get all 4 made. They were delicious but way too much ice. I wanted to order another round but when I asked the bartender if they could do less ice or use regular glass cups I was told no (with no explanation or solution) . I know it’s a tiki bar but I am very particular as a ND I like regular glasses to see my drink. I’d go back and maybe speak with a different bartender. I love the decor and vibe! They didn’t have food but Amelia said we could bring in food. Next time that’s the plan. Check them out!
This was a cute themed place. It was nice to visit, but I wouldn't return. I may bring others here who are visiting the area. The drinks are sweet. The service was wonderful though. The old fashioned was my favorite drink, but it came filled a quarter high in a regular cup. A smaller glass would make more sense. The Jet Pilot drink on fire is pretty cool. The cutter was sweet and tart not my favorite.
