With netting on the ceiling, fog machines, swamp lamps, and pictures of the swamp monster, it creates a unique atmosphere. However, the unpleasant odor that greets you as soon as you enter is quite off-putting. My friend and I waited about 10 minutes before a server acknowledged us. When our drinks finally arrived, they came with a rubber chicken that looked dirty, and it was actually floating in our drink. When I requested the check, it took another 10 minutes for the server to bring it. Keep in mind that the restaurant isn’t very large and there weren't many customers. I noticed her cleaning glasses and reorganizing the bar while we waited to leave. While it was an interesting experience once, I don't feel inclined to return.

I... read more Was visiting from out of town and some friends brought me here. I was absolutely blown away. Nothing has made me want to live in Detroit more than Lost River. If I was in the area I'd absolutely be a regular. Cocktail prices are very reasonable considering the quality. Found a chocolate rum here that I fell in love with. Bartender was more than happy to write down the name for me. Have been trying to find an excuse to get back ever since. Believe that I'll be stopping here if I'm in Detroit.
