Axis Lounge - Detroit
Axis Lounge
Description
Axis Lounge, located within the MGM Casino, offers a vibrant ambiance that's perfect for socializing, dancing, and enjoying good company. While the music selection often leans heavily on 80s hits, the space is ideal for people-watching and boasts comfy seating options. However, the bar service is noted as slow, with drinks requiring patience and occasionally lacking in quality. Despite these drawbacks, the engaging atmosphere keeps guests returning, as many find joy in the lively interactions and celebrations. Axis Lounge stands out as a fun venue—just be prepared for a relaxed pace when ordering.

I was hesitant between giving this restaurant a 4 or 5-star rating, but ultimately decided on 4 stars. To be honest, it could be considered a 3-star restaurant, but my wife and I really enjoy dining here. One of the pros is the great location...
The ambiance is fantastic and the waiter was excellent! Unfortunately, the drinks were not up to par. We tried ordering Grey Goose and club soda thinking we couldn't go wrong, but they...
I thought it was a genuine lounge, not just a bar in the casino. It wasn't a big deal. Overall, I had a good experience here.
The music selection definitely needs some variety; the bands and DJs mostly stick to 80s hits. It would really enhance the atmosphere if they mixed in some tracks from the 80s to the 2000s. Additionally, the bartending could use some improvement—some drinks really require specific recipes. I recommend getting a Blue Moon, settling into one of the comfy sofas, and just relaxing. There’s enough space for about 6-8 couples to dance, which is nice. Just to note, the drinks are not frozen or on the rocks. When you have a waitress, it’s better to head to the walk-up line instead. Overall, it’s a decent place that has potential. Just be sure to go home after you leave the club; stick around and you might end up in trouble.
