They also decided to shut down the pizza... read more Visit update 2025-December: The service on this visit was horrible. Not sure why, but they need to drastically improve. They also decided to shut down the pizza oven 1 hour before closing. Really?? Simple ingredients widely available earlier in the day at the city farmers market were no where to be found during our visit. There are better options available in this town. Miss the food and service from the old photos shown. When I visit Detmold this is my must stop. Although a slight name change, Mimmo continues to run the kitchen and makes fantastic pizza and pasta to order. He gladly makes my off menu pasta. Pizzas and pasta portions are large. Small place on a side street very close to main marketplace. Building dates to 1644. Be sure to dress down once inside as pizza oven is adjacent to dining area and it's plenty warm inside. This is NOT quick order and food service....a take your time experience. Mimmo always remembers regulars by name and he's super friendly and often chats or sits with quests.
