We are so pleased we gave this restaurant a shot. Our server Joseph was fantastic. The food and happy hour drinks were top-notch. The chef deserves compliments for the best steak I've ever had! The gumbo was perfect, but could use a bit more spice for my Cajun husband who loves heat. This place is a must-try in Destin! Delicious!
The waitress then suggested that we add the hash brown casserole to accompany our Southern Style breakfast, which already came with grits. However, when our meals arrived, we found that the avocado in the chicken salad was rancid and the salad itself appeared to have been sitting in the fridge for far too long. The breakfast dishes were all cold, and surprisingly, the grits were missing - only hash browns were served. When we received the bill and saw that we were charged for the hash browns, we asked the waitress to remove the charge since we never received the original side that was part of the meal. She simply brought us a bowl of cheese instead. In the end, we felt like we wasted 30 dollars on a disappointing meal. After explaining the situation to the manager, he graciously refunded our entire bill.
We have always had a great experience at 790 at the hotel, but when we visited the new location in January, I decided to try the chicken salad. Unfortunately, it was the worst chicken salad I have ever had.
Sunday Brunch: As I'm easily identifiable as walking disabled, it was unexpected when the greeter lithly led us across the restaurant to seating farthest from the entrance to an extremely uneven table. From there the disappointment continued. A too spicy **** Mary, a bland tasteless shrimp/ crayfish gumbo, average beignets, almost soggy breaded grouper. Wish we had gone elsewhere!
New location, not worth the trip. the mushes with garlic sauce ordered, the best we ordered there, came only with 3 small pieces of slightly baked white bread. large soße, but limited brot, asked for more brot, got 3 more discs for 80 cent. fine over $100 for two people and they need them 80 cent for extra brot and $3,33 for not pay cash. we live locally and will not be back. also monitor their check, there was a fee for something we didn't order. it should be a happy hour, the full rate was calculated, it had changed.
