Not the best customer service, the food lacked flavor and tasted rushed... and the price wasn't the best either. I don't mind paying good money for good food but I won't be ordering from here again. There's many Vietnamese restaurants around and the competition is definitely high. Origins just wasn't it for me. One good thing is the location. It's near the Des Moines Marina. Good atmosphere, really tasty food, good beers on tap. They have an area for dining and a separate bar. They have a nice outdoor dining section with a view of the water. Reasonable prices.
It's a nice place. Friendly staff. They have a nice menu with a good amount of selection. I would come back and try their rice plates or vermicelli bowl. I had pho because of a craving. It was ok.
The food is delicious but the meat in both dishes was not enough. I had chicken phone and it had less than 1/3 of the chicken other restaurants serve. Everything else was outstanding. The jalapeno slices were the hottest I've ever tasted.
I recently dined at a new restaurant in Des Moines and was impressed with the cleanliness, great and friendly service, and delicious food. I highly recommend this restaurant for families, kids, or a date night.
This restaurant in Des Moines serves the best Vietnamese food. I highly recommend trying the grilled shrimp wrap, which is priced at $16.50 and comes with a generous portion of 9 large shrimp.
