The Riverside - Derbyshire Dales

This restaurant and hotel are absolutely superb! We had an amazing experience with the seven course tasting menu, which was one of the best culinary experiences we've had in a long time. The staff, from reception to the serving staff, were all friendly, warm, and professional. The decor of the hotel is understated but gives off a warm and friendly vibe. The wine pairing for the tasting menu was excellent, with the sommelier providing detailed information about each wine in a lighthearted manner. We highly recommend this hotel and restaurant for special occasions and will definitely be returning soon!

We stayed here last night using vouchers our friends had bought us for our birthdays. It was absolutely fantastic. The decor is beautiful and the staff are spot on very professional but warm too. We had the tasting menu with paired wine and both...were outstanding. We felt that the staff looked after us meticulously but in a very low key, subtle way. The atmosphere is clam but not stuffy at all you feel like you can talk freely and completely relax. It really is a beautiful place.

We were visiting family in Derbyshire for Christmas part two so thought we would book ourselves a little treat to start the week off. Me and partner are both Chefs so this was the perfect way to start a week off together after a busy...and challenging December. We made the most of the Jan deal we saw online and having dined at Rafters in Sheffield with our friends we were super excited. Honestly faultless throughout. Such a friendly smiley team, clearly enjoying what they do. Great drinks selection, cocktails were imaginative and delicious and a really good wine list. Tasting menu was superb and great value for money, with the team being knowledgable on the menu and the dishes so they clearly put a lot of time and effort into there training. Where most places fall down is breakfast, but after a great nights sleep in the lovely Rafters room we were not dissapointed. Loved how the breakfast came as little courses, everything delicious, the granola particularly memorable and again all delivered by a super friendly team. Start to finish amazing, well worth the drive up from Hampshire and the best way to start our Christmas. All the best for

Special birthday treat. Taster menu, and overnight stay. The service was excellent, from check in, bar service, and restaurant. It’s a lovely location inside and out. The hotel is finished to a very nice standard. The room was lovely. The food as you would expect...from Rafters was top notch. Breakfast was lovely. Overall it was just what we wanted for a birthday night. Highly recommended

This is an exceptionally good restaurant. My wife,son and I enjoyed a beautiful NYE lunch. We all dined from the set menu. Starters of confit lamb and barley risotto were delicious and beautifully presented. Mains of chicken and salmon were equally impressive. The staff are...lovely and the whole restaurant is so tastefully designed. Great place.
