The Red Lion must be the best looking pub in Bakewell. There are two separate but good sized bars, both with fabulous old beams on sloping ceilings. The floors are stone and the bars have nice stained glass panel work above them. Both bars also have real fires so we were cosy and comfortable as we enjoyed decent beers and nice service. Really good pub. View all feedback.
What Kate G doesn't like about The Red Lion:
Nice pub, dissapppinted with the food. Ordered the chicken burger with skin on fries for £11.95. Waited 40 minutes and was underwhelmed when it arrived, a very boring not full plate. Got normal chips and a brioche with the chicken, a piece of lettuce and a little garlic mayo. The lack of any salad or coleslaw garnish meant it was very dry. The portion size was not proportionate with the price. View all feedback.
Decent for a pint. Nipped in a few times whilst my son plays football up the road. Cruzcampo on tap and a friendly guy I assume the manager behind the bar.

Well done to all the staff at the red lion Bakewell for great service
Visiting family and popped in for lunch. What a fabulous place with delicious food. Afterwards sat in the lovely beer garden for a few drinks. We were in Doggy heaven as lots of walkers and their dogs popping in for refreshments and snacks. A great little sun trap, even in October. Lovely quaint pub with very friendly and welcoming staff. Can’t wait to go back in March and visit the lovely Rachel Alex again and try their new menu as the food was fabulous
