Stopped off here after a day climbing in the area. Much better than cooking on the camping stove!! Delicious burger and side of halloumi fries. Moonshine beer was well received too! Friendly staff and great location. View all feedback.
What 4407KR doesn't like about Plough Inn:
We ordered the Plough Inn Burger for £16.95, a Club Sandwich for £13.95, and our total bill came to £45.60 with drinks included. The drinks, a pint of orange juice and soda and a large Chardonnay, cost £14.70. We were not looking for a large meal as it was midday, and although we said the meals were fine when asked, I ended up giving half of my Club Sandwich and fries to my husband because his burger was very small.... Despite passing by the pub many times over the years and finally deciding to give it a try, we were initially pleased but now do not plan on returning.
This was the best pub lunch I have had in years. The sirloin steak was exceptional, as was the scampi. I will definitely return to try more dishes on the menu.
I decided to stop by The Plough while on vacation in the area. I had previously visited in August 2020 and was impressed. The roast beef was perfectly cooked and served with delicious vegetables in just the right portion. The staff was quick, courteous, and efficient. I highly recommend paying a visit.
The Sunday dinner was lovely and the staff and service was great, however, £13.50 for a large glass of red that was ordered at the table without a drinks menu was ridiculous. 2 glasses of wine costing more than an already overpriced Roast will stop us returning.
A very good pub lunch. Well cooked pie and served by a really pleasant and helpful Molly. Good selection on the menu. Large car park. Recommended
