Was User at Uchi Denver a mag?
We went for my birthday and celebrated in style! Food was excellent. The Hama chili was by far our favorite with the wild scallop crudo coming in second. The Hot Rock was my husband’s least favorite and I thought the Walu Walu (another friend’s favorite from a different night) was a little stringy and maybe over cooked. They brought out a candle with our desserts (Fried Milk and Warm Banana Cake), which were both won... View all feedback.
What User dislikes about Uchi Denver:
The food is excellent, but a bit pricey. Unfortunately, the service leaves much to be desired. We returned a cocktail we didn’t enjoy, yet we were still charged for it. Additionally, the noise level was quite high, making it hard to enjoy the meal. View all feedback.
We have been to Uchi 5 times. The first 2 times were magical, and I would tell people it was my favorite restaurant in Denver. The last two times were meh at best. The service has really gone downhill. The servers are not very attentive, and the kitchen/sushi staff look perpetually irritated. The first few times we were here everyone was smiling and enjoying their work. Drinks and food were slow to come. Quality of dishes has gone downhill where they used to be exceptional. The sushi staff was irritable and hard to get questions answered. This used to be the best place in town, but now I would look at some others. Ronin is very good, smaller, and a better experience.
I was surprised by how slow the service was, but the servers were very hospitable and food was tasty. Karaage could've been crispier. Especially because it took over an hour to come out. However the space was really nice and I plan on coming back.
We sat at the bar and the bartender who served us was great. All of the food we tried was FANTASTIC aside from the fried chicken thigh dish. We will be back!
Really delicious, sometimes surprising food with quality ingredients. Bartender and staff were super welcoming, each dish was explained fully as it came out (sometimes with a more detailed description than the menu provided! . Had such a great meal ofsmall plates and sushi, split partly with the Happy Hour menu (which is every day, including weekends! I can highly recommendthis spot if you’re looking for somewhere fun and hip with unique food!
Truly a Michelin Start quality restaurant which are hard to find in Denver. I recommend getting the tasting menu, we were nicely surprised with the variety of dishes. Also, the menu itself is a bit tricky to navigate through. All the plates had greatcombinations of flavor and texture, and just fantastic quality of produce. Highly recommend!
