I’ve been going here since I was in diapers, and it’s for a reason. The food is diverse, with many offerings from every type of shrimp dumpling, pork blood, turnip cake and chicken claws to some beginner/American friendly dishes like dumplings etc. The wait staff are friendly, but you do have to do a little bit of research before hand because their service models depends on efficiency. If you do not speak mandarin or Cantonese, that’s okay because as the cart workers come by, they will show you every dish and you just have to say yes or no. Honestly if you just try the shu mai, I think you could eat that for a whole meal! Also if you don’t know this already- but there’s no dim sum at night here! It’ll be all a la carte after the afternoon, but no worries- the food is still delicious. Try the lobster with noodles, the lobster juice is cooked into the noodles so it’s extra flavorful.
Very unique experience with cart service of delicious, rich filling dumplings and buns. During busy times (this place gets very busy), if you don't speak Chinese, you may not know which dim sum you are getting. The servers essentially present baskets of dim sum in front of you and ask if you want it or not with little explanation of what it is. This was fine with me, I just said yes to 5 random baskets and enjoyed. Any with shrimp and pork inside are delicious. The dessert buns are also very good. Apply chili paste and various sauces generously. Enjoy!
Great spot, they easily accommodated our family of 25 with their online reservation system. The service was very attentive and fast moving. Got to give credit to a great staff team!
Star kitchen offers the best dim sum experience in the Denver area! My partner is Chinese and we have had dim sum all over the country in every Chinatown in every major city and this one is reliably good. It’s always crazy busy on weekends and holidays so plan accordingly but their online check-in system to get on the waiting list makes it, an easy experience. I even showed up 15 or 20 minutes after my number had been called and they got me right into a table. The food was fresh and hot. We ordered the beef chow fun off the menu and also had siu mi, beef meatballs, and the chive balls, all of which were excellent. Highly recommended. Maybe shoot for later lunch say after one to avoid the log jam that happens before they open in the morning.
