Reviews summary
Narrative restaurant is a mixed bag of reviews from customers. While some loved the attentive staff, delicious food, and crafted cocktails, others found the noise level too loud, food overpriced and salty, and service mediocre. Despite some disappointments, many praised the ambience and service quality, with some celebrating special occasions. For those looking for a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience, Narrative may be worth a try, but for others seeking a better value or superior quality, there are plenty of other dining options in Denver to consider.

Low quality food and service in total. The waiter immediately filled me in with his dislike of the menu. Unfortunately his suggestion, the short rib, was as bland as possible. There was no solace in the experience from the moment the absent host left us lonely for our first minutes to the waiter dropping the check instead of the dessert menu that we asked for. Great bar in the Autograph hotel! Didn't try any of the food but sat at the bar and had a couple of the mezcal cocktails. They were amazing and the bartender was equally great ????????. It almost entirely full at 8:30pm on a Saturday but there were stillseats at the bar.
Staff is wonderful. Cocktails were excellently crafted and the presentation was lovely. We had 2 different cocktails the first day during happy hour and two appetizers that were delicious the tuna poke and the burrata caprese. The next night we wentback for dinner since the experience was so wonderful the first day. We had high expectations and couldn't wait to try theentrees. The cocktails were again very good, but unfortunately the dinner was a huge disappointment. We tried the deviled eggs since this is one of our favorite appetizers living in the south, and we're told they were prepared in the traditional southernstyle) but unfortunately they were topped with pecorino Romano or something similar) which made them very salty. Not the creamyeggs we were expecting. Then we had the balsamic steak in a red wine demi and the 48 hour short rib. The presentation wasgorgeous. They looked very nice on the plate, and I was hoping tasted the same. Coming from a family that is in the food andwine industry and having a fiancé that has published a cookbook that includes a balsamic short rib recipe, I love bold flavorsand have huge respect for creative chefs. I know what these ingredients should taste like. It was a disappointment that thischef was not more bold with the flavors in these dishes. We couldn't taste the balsamic at all in the steak dish. For a 48 hourrib, I expected it to be fall off the bone tender, and I had to cut it with a knife to eat it. The smoked cheddar grits werealso a bit off. I couldn't taste the smoke or the cheddar. Both dishes were just bland overall, though the vera cruise sauceover the steak was nice, the dish did not live us to the description on the menu. We will be back for drinks but likely not fordinner. :
Food was excellent. Creative. Many gf options. Bartenders make great cocktails and custom beverages. Chic furniture. Highly recommend. Servers- especially Mariah were really wonderful. I loved the Tuscan chicken, arugula salad. My fiancé loved thelobster corn dogs!
The staff at Narrative is fantastic. The cocktails were expertly crafted with beautiful presentation. On our first visit during happy hour, we enjoyed two different cocktails along with two delicious appetizers—the tuna poke and burrata caprese. We loved the experience so much that we returned the next evening for dinner, eager to try the entrees. While the cocktails remained excellent, the dinner unfortunately fell far short of our expectations.
Fantastic bar located in the Autograph Hotel! Although I didn’t sample the food, I enjoyed a few mezcal cocktails at the bar, which were outstanding. The bartender was equally impressive. The place was nearly packed by 8:30 pm on a Saturday, but there were still seats available at the bar.

The food at this restaurant was delicious and beautifully presented. However, the service left something to be desired. Despite it being a holiday on July 4th and the restaurant not being very busy, it seemed like the servers were struggling to attend to us. Multiple servers walked past our table after we were seated, making us wonder if they even realized we were there. We had to ask multiple times to place our order and it felt like we were constantly trying to get their attention. While our server was polite and friendly, it seemed like they were not very well organized. Overall, the service could use some improvement.
I dislike Open Table because people don't always give honest reviews. I travel frequently and eat out often, so it frustrates me when I rely on reviews to make dining decisions only to find that they don't accurately reflect the restaurant. However, the staff at this restaurant was delightful and the food was amazing. I would definitely return to eat here again and highly recommend it. Unfortunately, I live in Florida so the commute for dinner would be too far. But I will make sure to stop by whenever I visit Denver.
We visited narrative for the first time and we will definitely return. The food was excellent, we received fantastic service from Joseph, and the atmosphere was relaxing - it was exactly what we were looking for.
I’ve been going to Narrative for several years and have always enjoyed the experience. Today however, was my first negative experience with the food. The server was very apologetic and accommodating but I was unable to eat both servings of pancakes presented after returning the first batch. Hopefully next time will be better.

My black Manhattan was not really a traditional Black Manhattan as your bar was 'out of ' Amaro, and it was served on the rocks, which I did not order (I have never been served a black manhattan on the rocks). Had I known in advance, I would not have ordered it. My daughter and I ordered the bread basket, but it was never delivered. The food was good, but not nearly commensurate with the price. The service should have been better especially considering the fact that the reastaurant was almost empty. There is no ambiance due to all the hard suraces and cold to non existing decor incl. white fake books on a white wall, no placemats or table cloths, etc. it 's an uninviting environment. Prior to our visit, a riend recommended the restaurant, but I would not dine there again nor breakast, as I found the breakast menu lacking.
Had the best experience! I have some food allergies, and Dayna went above and beyond to make sure that what I ordered was safe and tasty! My boyfriend and I will definitely be back again. Telling all my friends about our great experience.Food: 5/5

Big open and Bright space, lots of windows restaurant. Ordered the Caesar deviled eggs, the burrata, and the mojo chicken torta. Presentation was amazing, service was great. Just what to expect in beautiful Cherry Creek!
We live for date nights my husband and I. Narrative was a great spot to hangout, talk without too much loud music, food amazing and the ambiance is casual/formal/chic too! Can't wait to head back!
Overall awesome experience every time I've come here. Great service and delicious food. They have some really good cocktails, the Sapphire Thyme Capsule and the Speer Boulevardier were some of our favorite drinks. The cheesecake has to be one of my favorite desserts, period. It's the perfect balance of sweet and tart. Molten lava cake was great too. This place never disappoints!

The food was excellent. I would give the service four out of five. we were in the middle of talks several times, and interrupted by the service a few too often. it felt overlaid. but for once there was a staff that really looked after in denver!. I appreciate that they looked at us the best. I love eating and would recommend to everyone to try. I also had a delicious cocktail that was not excessively sweet and very refreshing called the black witwe.
My entree was cold- short ribs cold eh. I apparently wasn't the only one, I saw multiple plates going back. My boyfriends food was amazing! It was a nice visit for restaurant week.
My friend and I had a meal at Narrative during restaurant week and enjoyed it very much. The lobster corn dogs would be recommended for sure and the beef short ribs. The desserts were good as well, liked the tiramisu.
Appetizer and entrees were great, tiramisu was pretty disappointing. Overall great, but wouldn’t order dessert again
Went for Restaurant Week. He had the lobster corn dogs appetizer and I had the tuna poke and both were very tasty. We both had the short ribs and they were amazing. Deep in flavor and beautifully plated. The marscapone cheesecake was a deconstructed version, rich, decadent yet light. I am definitely going back!
