Reviews - Coperta
Reviews summary
The atmosphere at Del Frisco Grill seems to be a point of contention among reviewers, with some finding the loud music and reduced menu options off-putting. However, many praise the quality of the food and service, with some mentioning specific standout dishes like the steak salad and beef stroganoff. The restaurant seems to have potential for improvement in terms of ambiance and overall experience, but overall, it receives positive feedback for its delicious food and attentive staff.
Was Rocky Gies at Coperta a mag?
We found this little gem a few years ago and go back often. We even had our company Christmas dinner there a couple of times. We love the place! Great food and cocktails! View all feedback.
What Stephanie Tjebben dislikes about Coperta:
A great birthday dinner. But several dishes were seasoned in a way that made them nearly inedible. The ravioli was inedible with the flavors used and this isn’t a personal preference. We did love the homemade pastas that was a part of each dish. View all feedback.

We were at Coperta to celebrate a birthday. We both had the 3 course Farmer's Market offering which was both amazing in taste and a great value at $35 each. We were served small glasses of complimentary Prosecco and homemade Limoncello to celebrate such a classy and personal touch! The service was great, the food was amazing, and we felt very welcomed. Definitely recommend.
Food is good and nice ambiance. But they charge you a 23% service charge !!! instead of letting you add tip. I was with only one other person. Seemed a bit ridiculous, given service is normal/bare minimum
Food was average, at best. Expensive, especially after the added 23% gratuity. Very disappointing- will never return or recommend.
Delicious, gracious evening celebrating our anniversary. We enjoyed a braised beef short rib. Delicious homemade focaccia (crispy, soft and chewy all at the same time). I loved the goat cheese ravioli which was like a plate of Autumn with sauteed squash and pears. For dessert, the Grilled Ciambella is one of the most original, delicious bites I've had in a long time: Smoky/sweet cake sitting in a pool of 2 delicious sauces, and on top of sweet cherries. Every bite was rewarding.

We loved our server, Eli. He was kind, helpful and attentive, and passionate about the offerings. Food menu was quite small and for someone with a gluten allergy this probably isn’t the best choice of restaurants. Our apps were delicious but the pasta Gabe ordered (Cavatelli Ragu) seemed a bit undercooked and not as flavorful as he would have liked, and my pork dish, while tasty, was very salty. Overall not a bad experience but we weren’t convinced that we should come back.
Given the restaurant makes a big deal about their 23% service charge they should have more of a free flowing staff. Tables are still very siloed to 1 server or another, so despite a relatively high guaranteed gratuity you don’t get great service. Service also fell off once we had our meals, it was hard to get a drink refill, dessert, or the check. Food is incredibly delicious and creative, we love the rotating menus. Some items can be poor value though, for example $6 for a single small oyster. Could also use more variety when it comes to sides and non pasta dishes. I’d love to order some veggies with my pasta.
Delicious and authentic southern Italian food. The service was very good and they included the tip for the full kitchen. I appreciate a business that supports their staff.
Live in NYC and visit relatives in Denver at least twice a year. Always stop at Coperta for a consistently great meal in a casual unstuffy setting with attentive service (Thank you Becca). Never disappoints!

My chef friend and I decided to have dinner at Coperta to reminisce about how much we miss Italian food back home in New York. This restaurant surpassed our expectations with its subtle seasonal twists on Southern Italian classics, unique beverage selections, and a friendly and genuine team of service professionals. The restaurant is located across the street from Benedict Fountain Park in a charming downtown neighborhood, creating a wonderful atmosphere that almost makes you forget you're in a bustling city. The attention to detail from the team reminded me of my favorite eateries back home, but with an even more comfortable and "homey" feel. Our second visit was even more memorable than the first, and Coperta has become my go-to spot that feels like an extension of my dining room table, but with much better food! Vegetarian options at Coperta are fantastic, with dishes like the broccoli dish with capers, garlic, olive oil, and fresh chia flowers from the chef's garden standing out as a delicious celebration of vegetables. While I did not bring kids during my visits, Coperta is clearly a family-friendly restaurant with plenty of menu options for children, and classic music playing overhead creates a comfortable atmosphere. The restaurant has plenty of street parking within 3 blocks in all directions and is accommodating to wheelchair/ADA guests, despite being in an older building with a tighter entrance. The team at Coperta is extremely conscious of dietary restrictions, asking about and communicating clearly about how dishes are prepared. Overall, dining at Coperta was a delightful experience that I will continue to enjoy. Grazie!
This Italian meal was absolutely amazing. It's the best I've had in a long time. I wish we had taken pictures! The smoked oysters were incredible, and the gnocchi with lamb ragu and crab pasta were fantastic. I highly recommend this place and I love the new menu. We will definitely be back! Food: 5/5
The restaurant seems to only play rap or EDM music, which may be suitable for a bar but not for a dinner setting. The atmosphere seems to cater more to the patrons than to the staff. The heavy bass music makes me feel rushed, similar to being in a grocery store or marching, which can be unpleasant for digestion. The reduced menu indicates a lack of business which could be attributed to the atmosphere. The noise level makes it hard to relax, which is a shame considering the delicious food options available. It wouldn't be surprising if the restaurant eventually transitions to serving only small plates and alcohol. The overall theme seems to be "we'll do what we want, regardless of business consequences." Despite all this, the food is consistently good, which is why I continue to dine here. The service is attentive, although there are timing issues. It's concerning that the restaurant is only half full on a Friday evening with good weather, potentially costing the owners a significant amount in lost revenue.
Everything was fantastic! Our group had a fabulous time, and one couple has already booked their next dinner at Coperta for August. Bravo to the team!
