I work nearby, and every time I pay in cash, I seem to receive the wrong change. It varies each time, but usually, it's between 10 to 80 cents less than what I should be getting.
I used to work on Annacis Island in Delta, and there’s really only one direct route to get there. Every day on my way to work, I recalled the construction of a new Tim Hortons right along the path. I eagerly awaited its opening for months, and when it finally launched, I knew it would be a hit. Timmy’s serves excellent coffee and delicious doughnuts, with the best time to visit being in the morning when all the fresh doughnuts are available. Occasionally, I’ll buy a dozen doughnuts for the office because we’re all enthusiasts when it comes to doughnuts. In fact, just two of us out of many are the real fans who indulge in them. The morning coffee rush is intense, which is why they also have a drive-thru. You can imagine the long lines both inside the restaurant and at the drive-thru during morning hours. The lunch crowd is also significant; I’ve seen many people enjoying soup served in bread bowls — it’s essentially a two-in-one deal. While sandwiches are available, most people seem to prefer the Wendy’s that’s attached for something heartier. Timmy’s closes after regular work hours because, let's face it, everyone is heading home then. Being on Annacis Island, which is primarily industrial, means it sticks to those working hours. It’s really convenient to have a place like that since you can feel a bit trapped on the island.
