What Steven S doesn't like about Corner Pit Bbq:
I left feeling hungry after my visit. I was served a brisket plate on wax paper that only had two or three small pieces of brisket. The portion size was disappointing, especially considering how expensive it was. The small servings do not justify the high prices at all. View all feedback.

The food was exceptional, receiving a perfect score of 5 out of 5. The brisket plate was particularly noteworthy and comes highly recommended. The service was equally impressive, also earning a 5 out of 5. The atmosphere of the restaurant was inviting and enjoyable, making it a great place to dine. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend it!

For dessert, my kids exclaimed, "Chef's kiss!" The owner’s family was on-site, and we enjoyed a lovely conversation with him. They seem like a genuine, local farm family who truly cares about their restaurant. The restrooms were clean, and they accept both cash and cards. As of our visit on July 19, 2023, their hours are Wednesday to Sunday from 11 AM to 8 PM. We definitely plan to return frequently!
The owner really needs to manage the business better. In today’s world, there are plenty of tools available to announce closures. While we were there, four other cars showed up, all sharing our frustration. I genuinely enjoy the food here, but the service leaves much to be desired. Inconsistency can quickly damage a small business. Here’s my advice: if you plan to eat here, call ahead. If no one answers and you can't confirm that Corner Pit is open, it's best to reconsider your visit. Response: Jake, thank you for your reply. The real issue is that your business assured us that the brisket would be ready for us on Sunday after we placed our order 14 days prior to 7/15. We provided our contact information and should have been notified before driving over 70 miles, especially since we confirmed on 7/15 at 3 PM that you would be open and had the brisket ready for us. I understand your business model, and I appreciate the quality of your food. As someone who has worked in operations for the past 15 years, I believe it's essential to do what you say you will do and keep your commitments. That’s the best way to run a business. I’ll chalk this up as a lesson learned and hope it serves as one for you as well. Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
On July 16, we drove 74 miles to meet family, pick up our order, and enjoy lunch. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a sign indicating that the restaurant was closed and had sold out. We received no notification about the closure. When we called during our drive, we only heard a message from the previous weekend. In the past, we've written positive reviews for Corner Pit. While the food is excellent, the owner really needs to improve communication about whether the restaurant is open or closed. A simple phone message or a post on their website could have saved us a lot of frustration and wasted time on our 1 hour and 20-minute drive. Previously, we had a wonderful experience with Corner Pit, including hosting a wedding rehearsal dinner there in 2022, but this incident has sadly tainted that perception. It's disappointing that a great restaurant's service cannot match the quality of its food.
