I visited the Bake Shop to try their famous Left Hander Burger with three friends. I ordered the burger and my friend Liza ordered the steak sandwich, along with two glasses of Pinot each. The Pinot was mediocre and overpriced at $10 per glass (bottle not available). Both our dishes came with onion rings, which were burnt. When I asked for them to be redone, they came back burnt again. The waitress seemed indifferent when I pointed this out. After finishing our meal, we ordered a second round of drinks, only to be pestered about the check shortly after. The server even tried to take Liza's half-full glass away before she had finished. When we finally received the check, it was incorrect and the waitress seemed annoyed when asked to fix it. As a supporter of local businesses, I was extremely disappointed by the terrible service at this restaurant. I suggest avoiding this place and trying one of the many other dining options in Deland that value their customers. Despite the poor experience, I still left a 20% tip.

I ordered the Left Hander 50/50 beef and chorizo topped with cotijia cheese and it was delicious. The menu is very creative and offers unique dishes. We enjoyed sitting outside in the Artisan courtyard. The server was friendly and provided quick service.
