What Lee doesn't like about Pèppoli At Pebble Beach:
Went for Christmas Eve dinner expecting that an Italian restaurant would have multiple dishes or specials featuring seafood. Unfortunately, most of their dishes were meat based and the food was not authentic. The servers were very attentive and atmosphere was nice. With a lot of Italians living in Monterey and Carmel and those just visiting, hopefully they will throw in a traditional feast of the 7 fishes dish or at... View all feedback.
The view is just spectacular. If the weather is nice, definitely sit outside. The food is a bit overpriced and nothing to rave about. It's pretty average Italian food, but the atmosphere is what sold me.
Perfectly cooked pasta, excellent service, white tablecloths and an ocean-golf course view. What's not to love?
Pépoli at Pebble Beach was superb last night. We got seated at our favorite window table on the far end of the restaurant, so it was fairly quiet. All the servers were amazing and took care of us from the moment we walked in. A glass of the Montepulciano was very nice. Then we ordered a couple of salads to be split. The Caesar with whole anchovy fillets and plenty of flavor hit the spot. The other salad was the mixed greens with warm grilled peaches. Apparently they baste a white basalmic glaze on the peaches and it really tops it off. Our hand made fresh pastas were all unique and wonderful. The lasagna was very meaty, had a nice crisp top with the cheese and very flavorful. Pappardelle with the boar ragu was very nice. Next was the Rotolo Fiorentina which looked like cannelloni cut in half and stood on end. The presentation was interesting. But the flavor was really amazing with spinach, tomatoes and cheeses-mozzarella and ricotta. Finally, the fourth pasta was the Conchiglie Verde, which was OK. It was the most disappointing of the dishes the only one that didn 't really hit the mark. It was probably the kale infused pesto-just kidding! Dessert was a treat. We saw the next table had a 8 inch high desert, so we inquired what that would be. It 's the mud pie, which is served at Roy 's Hawaiian restaurant next-door but they can get it even though it 's not on the menu. So we ordered the secret mud pie and it was outstanding. A very yummy meal. We 're already planning to go back this week.
Amazing meal, amazing wine. Our waitress was helpful in picking wine for our dinner and pointing us in the direction of her favorite meal choices. The restaurant has view of the ocean, and if you're outside you might have a chance to see and hear the bag piper that strolls the grounds. Food was light and fresh and presentation is . Would highly recommend this restaurant
Had a wonderful dinner here for our anniversary! Told the hostess on the phone, and to our surprise we had a lovely treat presented at the end of the meal. Our reservation was at 6, but we hadn't seen the bagpiper so the hostess said it would be ok to come back at 6:30 once the bagpiper was done. The food was delicious! We just had pasta. Window seating was lovely as we could see the surfers in Asilomar. Would definitely come here again with out of town guests or for a special occasion.
