Always our go to place for breakfast when we are in San Diego. We like this location more than the other 3. The service here is always friendly and accommodating, and our food comes out fresh and in a timely manner. You can?t go wrong with the German Pancake. It?s pretty large, so me and hubby share, but we order some eggs and bacon al a carte to complete it. For our 4 yr old, we have ordered the one, two, three! or... View all feedback.
What Walkiria Perez doesn't like about Richard Walker's Pancake House:
It was my first time at this place. I got tricked by their awesome marketing material and didn't realise it was a restaurant chain. And it definitely tasted like it : Not real maple syrup, white sugar, normal table salt, tasteless meals, average waffles. If you like fast and unhealthy food, then your taste buds are going to be happy, and I definitely recommend it. I gave it a couple of stars because the service was k... View all feedback.
Hey Richard Walker ordered 100 dollars worth of food to be delivered. No butter nor syrup we did however get lemon wedges and powdered sugar. We had 4 different sets of pancakes. Called someone on the line and they were so gracious. She offered for me to get in my car and come and pick up syrup. I live in Del Mar and if you have to be so cheap as to not include butter or syrup. The neighbors and I can put a collection plate together for .75 cents a day it would cost. Never go cheap. Or you won’t last here in Del Mar especially with the price of 21 dollars for a pancake
The 49er pancakes were a mistake. Thin and not exciting in the plate. Bacon and eggs were great. Thick flavorful bacon was top shelf. Apple pancake was the winner. Come hungry.
So I came to try this place out in hopes of a good time but sadly I will not be able to say that. My family owns a restaurant and we like trying places to see the food and service and unfortunately I came to try it myself with my friend and it did not meet my expectations. I am going to be very honest starting with the service, our server Shawna was very rude maybe she was having a bad day and I understand but there’s no need to be rude and take it out on the customer. She didn’t even greet us with a smile she looked like she didn’t want to take our order, which does not look good for your restaurant. Second when my friend asked her if she could split the bill please she looked irritated and then she gave the price but I wasn’t sure if it was my friends food or mine so i asked nicely “Would that be my bill or hers?” then she said “I am telling you it is yours!” then shoved the card machine in my face to show me which I found very unprofessional I have worked in customer service/ restaurant with my family and that is no way to treat a customer I didn’t make a big deal or talk back to her because I didn’t want to add on. Then she simply made a face at me and I still tipped her because I was taught no matter how rude the server is never leave without tipping but it was very rude and I will not be returning here and I will let others know as well. The pancakes were okay they were very sticky but not the worst I would say.
Thoroughly enjoyed a large group breakfast. Food was very good, service was excellent.
It's fine. Went on a Friday, and there was no line. On weekends, there's often a multi hour wait. It's fine for no wait. Would not at all be worth waiting for. Menu is typical breakfast food, and tasted good.
