Very good pasta dishes and service. The noise level made it difficult for our family to talk, and we were seated close to each other at a four top table. Also, it was strange that we arrived 5 minutes before our reservation and the host asked us to wait, even though most of the tables were empty. View all feedback.
What Marcella Stracke doesn't like about Cucina Enoteca Del Mar:
I have mixed feelings about this place. We were seated outside, not in the shade and the place was empty. The waitress was very attending, but it felt a little pushy to get us in and out. The kids pasta was amazing and our dish was okay. The side of brussel sprouts we ordered were burnt to where I couldn't even eat half the dish (I was starving). A bottle of Sauvignon Blanc 2018 Galerie 'Naissance' from Napa Valley ordered. Then we have an appetizer of Burrata Tomato Conserva Sauerteig Baguette. I have short rib pappardelle Cremini mushroom carrot parrot for my pasta main dish. My girlfriend got corn agnolotti crème fraiche sumac chili cilantro ricotta salata for her pasta main dish. Great service. The tables are full and lots of loose, but still good for date night. Food was amazing and overall a great culinary experience
I really wanted to get some pasta this spot had a reservation open. I saw some other reviews and was a bit nervous just because some of the reviews were harsh. I sat outside upstairs in a beautiful covered area. I ordered some hot water, the bucatini pasta (I added an egg because why not), and then the burrata pizza. I must say, everything was amazing. The bucatini pasta was so flavorful and the egg was a great touch. I do see how some people could say it's a bit salty but that doesn't bother me. The pizza was really good, I even dipped it in the pasta sauce lol. I ordered some truffle fries just because I wanted some a small snack they were good. They don't have ranch but they do have some aiolis that were great. I'd definitely come back here for that bucatini. I can honestly say it was one of the best pasta dishes I've had in a long time.
SOooo delicious Italian cousin ?? Whenever you're in San Diego, a must stop! Very good service too. Very good celiac friendly GF options.

The kids pasta was amazing and our dish was okay. The side of brussel sprouts we ordered were burnt to where I couldn't even eat half the dish (I was starving). Since this is California drink costs were $5 a drink and there were split plate costs. Overall, the place is beautiful and I'm hoping we just got a bad meal based upon other reviews.
The presentation of the Seafood Linguine was outstanding, but it was the taste of the Giant Meatball appetizer and the Short Rib Pappardelle that make this place worth coming back to. Reservations are definitely recommended on Friday and Saturday nights, but if you don?t mind sitting at the bar or outside they aren?t necessary. The entrance walls are lined with a great selection of wines, so be sure to browse them on the way out. And that?s?Henry?s Take. @henrystake
