We were once again in the black hahn to eat. that the time was standing in the restaurant decades ago was not new to us, but that we were served very unfriendly... read more We were once again in the black hahn to eat. that the time was standing in the restaurant decades ago was not new to us, but that we were served very unfriendly and unprofessional by the restaurant manager, was a new experience. our desire for a different table than in the next room with a view of an old illuminated rule with non-minor old wine bottles, was cut off, with the note "the tables are assigned according to the reservation receipt". we still stayed. the menu for proud eur 159 was very good at the beginning, but both meats were cut at best. on the part of the restaurant manager/solmmelier we were ignored all night (once he gave us wine). only the lady who served us the evening was kind and honest. Conclusion: restaurant with the charm of past decades, menu very expensive with clear weak, very good wine card with fair trips, unprofessional guest care. we will not come back.

Anyway, for us the magic didn't work. The service was pleasant.

The cuisine is more modern than we would have expected from a Michelin-starred establishment with such a renowned tradition. The dishes were consistently perfect, culminating in a fantastic (and chocolate-free) dessert. The portion sizes were perfectly balanced, and with appropriately long intervals between courses, we didn't feel like we had eaten too much at the end of the evening. The service was competent, attentive, and discreet – it couldn't have been better. Excellent wine pairings, all from the region! Highly recommended!
