Rosebud - Deerfield
Rosebud
Description
Overall, diners had a mixed experience at the restaurant. While some praised the excellent service, delicious food, and wonderful ambiance, others were disappointed by lukewarm and bland meals, unappealing cocktails, and a long wait time for their food. Some guests also mentioned a voluntary 3% surcharge on the bill that they found unnecessary. Despite these mixed reviews, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse seems to be a popular choice for special occasions and offers a pleasant dining experience for many patrons.

We had a delicious meal. My husband ordered the veal and I ordered off of the special menu pappardelle with chicken. For desert I had a scoop of creamy spumoni and my husband ordered the chocolate cake that was large enough for four people and it was delicious. We will definitely return.
Rosebud Deerfield was such a huge disappointment. We ordered what we usually order from their more established locations but this new branch in Deerfield could not come up even to minimum standard. The linguini w clams was practically dry, we had to ask for extra broth that tasted bland hurriedly made, the sea bass looked like leftover portion from someone else’s order that my brother said my plate looked like an order of broccolini w a side of fish, also bland, and my sister did not like her pasta dish either. The steak al forno’s crust was thicker than the meat . Whether it was because they just opened or they were in a hurry to go home for New Years Eve, our dinner was certainly not worth what we paid for, nor expected from a Rosebud restaurant. Even the coffee came to us lukewarm. The only thing I liked was the gelato ice cream at the end and the chocolate cake. Not even good service could have saved that experience.
The service was wonderful. They brought us extra bread and even accommodated a member of our party who asked for olives. But do not order the short rib polenta. My wife ordered it and it was so rich and salty she had to stay home from work the next day. And she didn't even finish the whole thing. Was tasty, though. Also, they didn't really have a kid's menu, so not the best place to bring the family.
We were seated next to the wait station. And the waitress was asking a questions a million times. And her listening skills were not good! I dislike several servers in a restaurant! I know it's the way they do things now. But every coarse, we had to play the who had what game. I own a business, and when you have a large group, and the server stands at the head of the table, and calls out who had what. And you get to raise your hand when they reach your item. RIDICULOUS
