Impact Coffee - Decorah
Impact Coffee
Description
Housed in a lovingly restored historic brick building, Impact is a spacious, artful coffeehouse that balances excellent, expertly brewed coffee — from single-origin pour-overs to nitro — with killer pastries (notably chocolate-raspberry scones) and a savory menu of bagel sandwiches, salads, beer and wine. A long, handsome bar, loft seating and outdoor tables create a welcoming, laid-back community hub ideal for working, lingering with a book, or a casual date night; beans are available to take home.

The baristas are friendly and professional wizards when it comes to brewing an incredibly delicious beer! Your café has a cozy and inviting atmosphere, making it the ideal spot to relax with friends. Don’t forget to take some freshly ground coffee home with you!
I've been visiting Impact Coffee since their original, smaller location on Washington. The new venue beautifully retains the building's history while enlivening Water Street. Impact serves the smoothest coffee around, along with some truly unique seasonal drinks. In the evenings, they offer cocktails, beer, and wine. Their Norwegian waffles are a delightful snack, and the ever-changing selection of baked goods is always satisfying (the scones are especially delicious). Among their current seasonal offerings, I highly recommend the Matcha in Missoula made with oat milk—it's a silky smooth, wonderfully flavored matcha that's the perfect start to your day. If coffee is more to your taste, their medium pour-over is also excellent. For weekend visitors to Decorah seeking some nighttime entertainment, you’ll likely find yourself here, as they host live music, Bingo nights, and Trivia on Thursdays, ensuring a fun time for all.
Great coffee, amazing vibe. Friendly people. Blazing fast WiFi. How does Decorah have a place like this? What a gem!
We were in town for going to Vesterheim. took a break for mid-day coffee... went to Magpie but it was closed. A search found this place for us. Great vibe here with prompt and efficient service. Four of us ordered coffee and the pastries are self service. We chose a table and the barrista brought our coffees out to us. This is a great old re-purposed building with nice decor. Soft music playing. Delicious treats and wonderful coffee. We enjoyed it here!
Scout bought us two scones--he loves Impact Coffee, which is strong; I usually buy the Irish Chai Tea--as dessert following an excellent lunch at the Driftless Café in Viroqua, Wisconsin. The scones were the best I have ever had--rich with chocolate chips, citrus peel, and nuts--and they were not dry at all. We will be back for scones soon, I'm sure!
