Currently, they are featuring a Harry Potter theme, perfect for snapping some photos.

Both were extrem... read more 7/27/23: I got the two cakes shown in the photo. This was a blueberry cheesecake and a custard berry cake,(writing review 10 days after so... . Both were extremely wet-moist cakes... and both were really good, probably the wettest cakes I've ever remember having. I'm not sure if its the complementary components of the cake(toppings/cream/etc or what, but it was a great experience having it.Unfortunately the prices... left cake was $12, right was $9... that is well outside a normal budget for me for the quantity you get, and thus it loses a (it is pretty good, but not amazing . If price is not an issue, and you like really moist cakes, then this may be 5 for you. I would love to support the business, but it is too much for me, considering there are other places that, despite not being as wet-moist as these were, are of equitable quality and for more agreeable prices.

I've been a fan of the place since they o... read more With the power out at home in a major work project due, I needed to find a place to work. So I decided to try Gateaux. I've been a fan of the place since they opened and love it for its thoughtful aesthetics, delicious pastries, and activist values, and because it is woman-owned. But I haven't spent much time in the shop--usually I just run in and out. Hanging out to work was a terrific experience. The music was at the perfect volume and was the perfect mix of music--for work or socializing. You can easily hear yourself think or hear your friends talking. This is something so many places get wrong: They are way too loud with way too many TVs. Gateaux has no TVs, just a great mix of music and aesthetics that make you want to stay there for quite some time. Service is always good.

The cake was 8 inches, served 10 people, and was a single layer of delicious chocolate mousse. It turned out beautifully, just like the original, and was incredibly tasty. I highly recommend it!
