Edison's - Dearborn
Edison's
Description
The Dearborn Inn pairs vintage, formal charm with attentive service and a well-regarded menu — from steak and elegant desserts to an abundant breakfast buffet with an omelet and waffle station, fresh fruit, coffee and juice. Wine and polished service elevate dinner, but aging furnishings, occasional closures and ongoing renovations temper the experience. Some dishes can be overly salty for sensitive palates, and it’s an in‑hotel dining spot (not a Starbucks), so check hours and availability before you go.

I've only visited this restaurant for breakfast on weekends when the concierge was unavailable. The buffet is beautifully prepared and arranged. The atmosphere is somewhat formal, but the service is outstanding.
We stayed at the hotel and dined here on a Friday evening. We both ordered filet mignon, which was cooked to perfection—medium rare for me and medium well for my partner. However, we both found the dishes to be overly salty, which might be due to our Canadian palate and the lower sodium levels in our usual food. It was so salty that I couldn’t finish mine. Aside from that, everything else was wonderful, including the service and the dessert (creme brulee) as well as the wine selection. Overall, it was a great experience. The included breakfast buffet was also impressive, featuring fresh fruit, an omelet station, hot eggs, bacon, and great coffee.
No critics? Or rave reviews?. This is usually is a restaurant I check out on urban spoon to leave a review and add to my favorites... And I find numerous critic reviews talking up the quality, decor and menu items. Why is this such a secret? <br/ <br/ Best filet I've ever had, great salad too, could have more cheese on the pear salad. Artwork was a little to predictable, they could create a more contemporary environment, other wise the bar and restaurant are great looking.<br/ <br/ Did I say the food was some of the best I've had. I'd put this in the same class as the Roast at the Westin in downtown Detroit.
Everything about our meal at Edison’s was wonderful! The service was top notch, and the food was fantastic. The mushroom strudel was a great starter. We also loved the seafood linguini and pork chop entrees. The best part was the dessert! The chocolate tulip was elegant, and the bread pudding was just gooey deliciousness. The ambiance of the restaurant was lovely. We had a wonderful evening!
