Screen Door Kitchen
Description
Nestled in rural Tennessee, this family-run restaurant offers a warm, vibrant atmosphere, attentive service, generous portions and an ambitious menu — shrimp & grits, fried chicken, salmon, burgers and notable desserts plus excellent French‑press coffee. Many praise the staff and characterful setting, though food execution can be inconsistent (over/undercooked or occasionally burnt) and patrons have reported pest/cleanliness issues in warm months. For the most reliable experience, visit during non-peak hours.

The food is very good! We enjoyed the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese. The burger was very good, and the Brussel sprouts were excellent. We will be back again. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
First time to the Screen Door Kitchen for us. We’ll definitely be back. The chicken and waffles were to die for. Just the right amount of spice to heat things up but not overpower the flavors the perfectly prepared fried chicken and the delicious vanilla flavored waffles. I had a salad for my side and the home made “999” Island dressing was terrific. My wife had the chef salad and it could have fed three. Her homemade dressing was a big hit too. Service was impeccable. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Fried Chicken and Waffles

Such an amazing find! We were in a crazy time crunch and called ahead, asking if there was any way they could start our order before we arrived. Our amazing server, Savannah, literally had our table ready with our food the moment we arrived. We scarfed down our meals, but found ourselves with about 15 extra minutes due to her wonderful hospitality. GET THE CARROT CAKE! I cannot stress this enough. Her Mom makes it, and it's worth every.freaking.calorie. I would travel back there just for the cake if that's all they had to serve. So nice to dine at a place where you genuinely feel like a valued guest. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
