This is after mixing it already. This is completely unappetizing and I would have never allowed it to leave the kitchen. Thick film of oil on top of my curry.
We went to Paste Thai for dinner for the first time, but definitely not the last. The restaurant was busy and full at 7:00 on a Saturday, but the wait time wasn 't bad, about 15-20 mins. The service was great even though they only had 2 people serving. They were hustling. The food came out fresh, hot, and very tasty! We got the stir fry eggplant with beef and the curry mango with chicken. The curry was good. It had just enough spice (we asked for mild) but not so hot that we couldn 't eat it. If you like it spicy, the customer next to us asked for Thai Hot so that means extremely hot for us, but their mild was just right. The stir fry was the highlight. The seasoning was perfect, the beef was tender, and the vegetables were so fresh. We have to go back soon to try some of the other dishes. So far this is our favorite Thai Restaurant in Davis and the Woodland area.
Don't order online. They quote 30-40 minutes and take well over an hour. I think they wait for you to show up before they decide to start working on your order.
The food is actually pretty good. I ordered the Pad Si Ew and it wasn't bad. The kids both ordered the pad Thai and hubby ordered the Penang curry. Everyone liked their dishes. However what I didn't like was the time I had to wait to get my food. We probably waited about 20-25 min until one dish was brought out, then another 8 minutes for the pad Thai, and another 3 minutes after that for my pad si ew to come out. I did notice they were busy and they had call in and online orders waiting but what got me upset was the people that came in and sat after us got their food before us. As to ambiance, the restaurant is nice. It's clean and looks fairly newer.
Super delicious. The food gets a 5 star rating. I got the chicken and eggplant dish with white rice. The eggplant and chicken were perfectly cooked. The eggplant soft, but not soggy; and the chicken was very tender. The only complaint was the price for lunch, but I do understand that inflation is high right now. It was good to try, but I won't frequent this place due to the price. It was 23.21 for eggplant and rice. The menu outside said 17.99, but maybe the price went up again or maybe they charge for to go boxes? Not sure where the extra 5.00 came from. Any way, it was delicious. I paid cash and did not ask for a receipt. The price gets a 3 star rating, so it averaged to a 4 star rating.
