Lugang Cafe - Davao City

The meal was delicious, but the service was incredibly poor. We dined at this restaurant twice and both times the food was good, but the service was lacking. It took 20 minutes for someone to take our order and even longer to receive our food. Both times we asked for rice but never received it. On our second visit, we asked for rice three times and were told we had not ordered any. After pointing out the mistake on the bill, the rice still did not arrive. On the third attempt, we changed our order to just one serving of rice since one of us had already finished our meal. However, my wife's main dish never arrived and we ended up giving up and just ordering her dessert. We waited for an hour, only to find out later that her main dish had been given to another table mistakenly. The restaurant did not inform us of this and we were left waiting unnecessarily. We will not be returning to this restaurant. They need to completely overhaul their staff as no amount of training can fix their terrible service.

I originally gave this restaurant 4 stars, but now I am downgrading it to 2 stars. During our recent visit, everything tasted off, including the xiao long bao. The fish we ordered was not fresh and the meat in the xiao long bao was too dry. We used to love this restaurant and would recommend it to everyone we knew, but after this last disappointing experience, we may not do so anymore.

The staff was helpful, but the food was disappointing. We had to constantly ask where our order was, and there were misunderstandings every time. One of our dishes had more fat than meat.

Great atmosphere and service. the vegetarian dumplings were good from this world! the stirring fried vegetables were ugly portions, but had much too much oil/ sauce. the chicken bugs were a sweat, they were tiny chicken pieces that were baked and fried in a teig. tofu was well roasted. four stars are a little too generous. I would say 3.7 would go back when the hunger in sm davao city.

Food is expectedly excellent. Their menu though is limited but understandably might be due to pandemic
