We ate here during the busy supper rush. Wait wasn't long, staff was very courteous and apologized for any delay. Meals were great, good portions for the price and kids menu had lots of options. A pleasant experience, good place to try out if you're looking for something different from regular chain restaurants. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Steak & Stein Family Restaurnt:
This restaurant has good food, friendly staff, easy to find location. but:Overinflated prices, small food portions. the worst is their old worn out décor. Have a look around and you'll find very old worn out carpets (yes, carpets in a family restaurant where children go) carpeted fuzzy ceilings with loose pieces dangling and hanging over your plate. Mostly of what you will see looks old like a flash black to the 1970... View all feedback.
Family restaurant on portland st, dartmouth, very friendly, very hand, lots of parking. After we haven't been here for about two years, we've tried it several times. tweezers were great, but the tenderloin beef tips were delicious every time we. the linguini with chicken strips also delicious.
I was looking forward to dinner when we were there the waiter who brought us on our table was very nice. he said our waitress was over, we waited for 15 minutes. I ordered a delmonico steak, it wasn't. I mentioned the waitress, everything she said, I'm sorry, so I went to pay and mentioned it to the cash everything she said, I'm sorry. I said that customers don't want to hear. try to fix the problem that I paid and went. you should start reading their comments that their business goes downhill, that is the third time and the last time, read your comments
Prices are to high! Can no longer afford to take my family here for dinner. Last time we went here it cost over $100.00 for two people that order Grisel filled steak and a bake potato.
We have been going to this restaurant since it opened MANY years ago. It has been the place of many family gatherings for special occasions. The last few years the food and service has been going downhill significantly and we vowed not to return last...time. But we gave it another chance on the weekend and I’m happy to report we had a good experience. Our server was A1. Sadly I didn’t get her name, but we sat in the section in front of the kitchen, on Sunday, for supper. I had the fettuccine primavera and it was creamy, fresh and very tasty. The rest of the folk in my group also enjoyed their meals. I found a big jump in the prices but in these times of Covid19 I guess it’s to be expected. I hope they continue to improve. All Covid19 protocols were in place and observed.
I've been going to the Steak Stein since the mid 80's when you could afford to take your entire family but the those days have long since passed! Better 2019/2020 I have been to the Stein three times, The last two visits I found...the customer service to be slow once they gave your your food they disappeared? Over all I found the steaks to be tough with a lot of gristle so much I need another plate to put it on. The last visit was the best because the food was served hot with minimal wait times. The two of us ordered 2 7oz steaks, One small piece of salmon and 6 scallops, two baked potatoes and a very small order of mushroom Onions. This came to nearly $80.00! With deserts the two meals would have been over $100.00! Not a very good value for what we ordered!! Note: The side order of Mushroom Onions are smaller, They use to serve whole button mushrooms in larger bowl but now you only receive a few chopped up mushrooms in small for some reason only half the onions in the bowl where cooked? See you next year Steak Stein your prices are to rich for my family!!!
