Star Fresh - Dartmouth

Small menu, but it always includes options for herbivores, omnivores, and those with gluten issues. Staff are always friendly. Never had a bad meal there, and been there 20 times.

As a restauranteure/chef i would say this is the only place on the dartmouth side to have a fresh, affordable and healthy meal that EXPLODES with flavour. Clearly this isnt the first time theyve done this. The order at the counter system works well if you are limited for time and the menu is short and sweet and changed daily so as to be fresh. Today i had the "plate breakfast" with sausage, eggs, toast or scone and homefries that were perfectly done. Everything sounded so delicious i ordered take out for my lunch AND dinner because i just had to try the rosemary chicken with quinoa side and the power salad which is awesome and has a killer homemade dressing. The housemade soups are always delicious and today it was "curried spinach and chickpea" OMG. If you like vegetarian options, fresh herbs and spices as well as gluten free options and HOMEMADE baked goods/desserts....this is the ONLY and BEST place in Dartmouth. When im too tired to cook and want a full rounded meal....this is the one place in dartmouth i actually get excited about.

I have been here several times in the last few weeks as I just work up the street. I am so incredibly happy that Star Fresh opened! The wraps, soups, yummy grilled cheese sandwiches have been extremely memorable. It is nice that Star Fresh has gone back to the basics of using great quality ingredients and use their heads and their hearts on how to prepare a superior product. I am always greeted by fantastic staff with a smile and always have super eats here.

Move over Burnside eatery's, there's a new girl in town and her name is StarFresh Modern Diner.Sometimes a person should really listen to their inner voice and just go for it. You see for months in the morning I've driven past StarFresh Diner on Wright Avenue going to my office. Always looking and said to myself, " I should stop in and check it out " but never did. Well today was the day and man am I sorry I didn't listen to my inner voice earlier.The sign outside tells you breakfast, lunch and fresh baked goods. Sounds good to me lets go. I walked in and was greeted by a very nice server and proceeded to peruse the menu. Wow, fresh salads, (they make their own dressings) fantastic sandwiches, every day they have blue plate specials from roast pork w/ potatoes and homemade apple sauce to a vegan Quinoa mushroom burger, fresh made soups, vegetarian options and fresh baked goods like the Mocha Almond Toffee Cheesecake! (Ok now I'm hungry, let's get on to breakfast)...I ordered the breakfast plate. 2 eggs (over easy), ham, hash browns, toast and coffee to go. I was given the choice of coffee I would like, "French Roast please", and do you have marmalade for the toast? "Yes for sure! (She answered with a smile), Great, thank you.When I got to my office and opened it up I couldn't believe my eyes, "this is not your standard greasy spoon, and in fact it's far from any diner food I've eaten". To name it a "Modern Diner" is right on the money.To start, a lot of people take eggs for granted, I for one don't. A simple egg can be and should be fantastic in texture, taste and appealing to ones eye. A lot of places can't cook an egg properly (they don't care, just fry it hard in grease and slap it on the plate).StarFresh Modern Diner does not cook that way, you can tell they take pride even on the simplest of pleasures and they cooked me the perfect fresh eggs. The eggs stood out on my plate like the crown jewel, with perfectly white flesh, and golden yolk, they were perfect visually and in taste.The ham with my breakfast was right on the mark, it was not processed meat, it was cut from a ham roast, great thickness, cooked perfect and delicious. Even their potato hash browns made fresh to order. They were not dumped into a fat fryer (like a lot of places) they were done on a flat top, light and slightly creamy with the right amount of seasoning.I have to say, everything from the inviting scent and flavor of my French Roast coffee, my eggs, ham, the sweet and juicy orange garnish slices to the marmalade for my toast, a perfect breakfast from StarFresh. Well done!!Very pleased I stopped this morning. Congratulations Owner/Chef Lisa! Now I have no choice and listen to my inner voice and start working my way through their lunch menu. Can't wait!

Due to some home renovations (no access to kitchen) We went here for breakfast for a week. We loved it every day. My husband enjoyed the same breakfast every day I had something different each day. I was never disappointed. It was all so good! Our renovations are done so, I am looking forward to graduating to the lunch menu! The menu looks so Good! They have Vegetarian and Gluten Free options. Don't get me started on the Baked Goods! So Good! My new favourite thing is the Gluten Free Gingersnap. and I am not Gluten Free!
