Many patrons laud the delicious food, excellent portion sizes, and attentive service, expressing keen enthusiasm for a return visit. The chicken tikka pathia and lamb jalfriezi were highlighted as standout dishes. However, some diners found the prices steep compared to competitors, while a few experienced issues with delivery timing and customer service. Overall, the restaurant's vibrant atmosphere and delectable offerings make it worth a visit, despite occasional service hiccups and mixed feedback on pricing.
The location of this place is not the best, but it is excellent regardless. I had an amazing meal here last night for the first time. The service was top-notch, the toilets were very clean, and the price during the week was fantastic. We were pleasantly surprised by the affordable price and felt it was great value for money. I will definitely be a regular customer here.
I have eaten at many restaurants in my life, but this one was far superior to all of them. The quality of the food, the expert seasoning, everything was delicious. It was superb, that's all I can say. Thank you very much.
We had a lovely home delivery meal last night. It was the first time we had used the Star of Bengal but it won't be the last. Everything we ordered was really tasty and we ate it all up. The only negative was we ordered...online for delivery at but it didn't arrive until I phoned the restaurant and when it was answered the guy told me they were busy. It was quite clear from his voice that he was well stressed. I'm pleased they did a good trade last night but it would've good manners to contact us to apologise for the fact, that it would be much later than
I think the oldest restaurant in Darlington, part of Darlo's heritage. Serving consistently good food for many years now. Don't change a thing. spot on.
Absolutely disgusting... ordered a takeaway as we drove to town as we live miles away once we go it and got home. The korma water chicken in water and a bland paste .. tikka masala was the most disgusting one I’ve ever tasted.. called...to complain and give them my feedback and I was told what do you want me to do about it .. I can’t do nothing.,,, great apology,, I will be telling all my friends and family how disgusting your food and your service is absolutely rubbish.. it has caused such an awful atmosphere in my house as it was my choice of where to go.
