Set in the old carriage works you are set for a very different setting.Being so big I can imagine it might feel a bit empty but we were there for a work function and it was perfect.Good selection of beers on tap and the staff were very friendly. Finger food we had was good, the black burgers sliders were a standout. View all feedback.
What Maxwell Mohr doesn't like about Cornerstone Bar & Food:
Me and my hubby (+ my 2yo boy) went there for lunch, ordered #1 Scrambled Eggs with Sourdough Toast, #2 Char Su Style Chicken, Steamed Rice, Bok Choy & Crispy Shallot, #3 Spiced Lamb Burger, Charcoal Brioche, Coriander, Paprika Roast Tomato & Fries. All three dishes came with a heavy drizzle of sesame and saffron spice on top! I found it totally shocked, not only my son is allergy to sesame, more importantly, they did... View all feedback.
Beautiful food & exceptionally friendly staff. Nothing was a problem for them. The gnocchi was just divine! The place isn't very big but is very very busy!
We were visiting the Carriageworks Farmers Market for the first time when we found this interesting looking café and thought that it was a perfect spot to have a leisurely brunch after strolling through the popular Farmers Market. The décor of this café was interesting. It is a combination of industrial style with a suitable amount of plants and rustic furniture. The tables are spaced comfortably. The buying process is a pub style where you need to order and pay at the counter first, and then the food will be delivered to your table. Despite this, the staff was very friendly and approachable. The coffee was great, one of the best in Sydney! The portion of my big breakfast was not as big as other cafés, but the food was fresh and delicious. The poached eggs that my husband ordered had a generous portion of smoked salmon though. We will definitely be back to this lovely café with great coffee!

I found it totally shocked, not only my son is allergy to sesame, more importantly, they did not specify this heavy drizzle of sesame on the menu. All three dishes are awful and taste weird with the spice. I have not yet tried an Asian steam rice with spice and sesame. The lamb chop is dry and over-cooked (burnt). My son can eat none of these (while I thought the scrambled eggs was safest, it turns out spicy spice on eggs) Shocking meal and limited selection.
We thought it would be fun to have dinner and a drink at Cornerstone. Nowhere to sit but finally found an uncomfortable stool to wait forever for dinner to appear .....the toughest lamb burger ever served on a charcoal bun...looked and tasted awful. The glass of wine was ok but as we waited to have it with dinner it had got rather warm.Sorry cornerstone...lift your game
