A wonderful Japanese restaurant with more uncommon dishes offered. Incredibly attentive staff and a crispy light tempura style. Highly recommend sitting upstairs and people watching the people below as you take a trip to Japan through the wonderful dishes provided. View all feedback.
What Geovanny Bartoletti doesn't like about Yama Japanese Cafe Restaurant:
3 overall for my dinning experience considering the atmosphere here was fantastic. However food itself was only worth 2. To me, it's a bit over priced and Sashimi is not that fresh. It's the first time i saw some chefs will get together and took a pic on the plate they prepared before serving, it looked not that professional. Also it is the first time i had a bento box but rice is not included.
PS, this is a Japanese restaurant run by all Korean.
I spent a good part of my meal trying to decide if I would sound either pretentious or bogan-esque if I said I preferred the tempura at Opera House.
Got the lunch special that includes sashimi, 4 nigiri, and tempuraIt was worth it, but priceyI think total cost is about $24 for lunch.
I needed to find vegetarian place for lunch and decided on sushi. I got good service, big portions and felt satisfied

Came dinner tonight, and so glad we did it! Everything was fantastic. The soft-crowned crab was cooked to perfection, and the Gyoza was one of the best I had. Partly damped, part grilled. Perfect textures. My partner went for the salmon-Main and loved it as I decided for the Wagyu Bento box, so that I could try the Sashimi too. The meat was cooked perfectly with such a stunning aroma, and the fish was so fresh and delicious. (Oh and the idea to marry shrimp and eggushi in an amazing layer cake of Nigiri-kindness !!!) The Miso side was rich and more ... one of the best I had for years. Grief Grief Beat your buck? We went a full and happy for about $ 40 a head. BYO wine fits a T. fantastic quality! Grief Grief Everything sweetened by beautiful employees who have made us feel welcome, and chats with the owner who proves that the love we could taste in the dishes, all up. I wish this team all the best, I hope you stop very long. We will be back soon!
