We had the Madras Thali for lu... read more We came here for our Thursday work lunch. I'm not a massive fan of Indian food, but nonetheless the food was great and plentiful. We had the Madras Thali for lunch, with a side of Beef Vindaloo and Palak Paneer. The flavours were nice and complimentary to the wine we ordered. I would go back for lunch again and I'm sure we will be back in the future.

Unfortunately, the tab... read more The food is undoubtedly exquisite. The ambience is there. Being there in a busy Sunday night is quite a pleasant experience, in theory. Unfortunately, the tables and chairs are badly arranged. It is very cramped with a near full house. The service is okay. The maitre d seems competent, but she is not exactly warm and welcoming, in fact, borderline rude. The waiting staff are okay but not very attentive (probably suffer from understaffed). Just minutes after finishing dessert, you are served with the bill without asking the waiting staff for it, which makes you feel terrible, "we have enough of you, now give us the money and get lost". Also, very disappointing that chicken biryani is only available on Sundays. Definitely better as a takeaway place. Order delivery because of the good food, do not dine there unless you have to.

It's a fancy place where most people were dressed up, but I didn't feel out of place. I had made a reservation online and noted that I was vegan, which the staff acknowledged when we arrived. We ordered samosas, cauliflower bonda, vegetable curry, and vegan butter chicken, all emphasizing our vegan preference. The entrees came with a yoghurt dipping sauce, which was a mistake that I had to keep reminding the staff about my vegan diet. Despite this, the service was generally polite and accommodating. The curries were delicious, especially the butter chicken, although it was pricier than the vegetable curry. We ended the meal with the only vegan dessert available, mango kulfi, which was a nice way to finish our dining experience.
